Dear Colleagues,
I'm very proud to have an opportunity to open the 8th edition of the International
Conf-erence "Transport Systems Telematics". It is a great pleasure for whole Scientific
Committee and me personally to welcome you at the meeting of the experts on transport
systemstelematics.
Telematics of transport is the area, which uses modern IT and telecommunication
technologies in transport systems management and applies to all transport types. As a
telematic system is named each solution in the field of IT and automation, which is used in
data collection, transfer, processing and use to increase travel flow and comfort or to allow
traffic control and management.
Telematics systems, by increasing the transportation efficiency and optimizing the
transportationcosts in eff-ectenlarge the transportationreliability and availability.
The conference will focus on the benefits of telematic fbr transport and trafflc
managers, drivers and travelers. It is an unique opportunity fbr demonstrate expertise and
achievement within the field of Intelligent Transport Systems. It is also an occasion to
establish new contacts within international and national delegates, when they meet in
Katowice and Ustron.
A review of papers of the 8th International Scientific Conf-erence"Transport Systems
Telematics" shows that interesting solutions and application in the field of intelligent transport
continue to come out and gives a hope that these researchesare solved with success,both for
lectures and listeners.
