The Key Rig software included with the KeyRig 25 and KeyRig 49 keyboards is not
immediately compatible with Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista*. The KeyRig 25 and
KeyRig 49 keyboards are plug and play on Windows**. Connect the devices and Windows
will install the drivers automatically.
First install the Key Rig software from the included CD; it is not necessary to run or
attempt to certify Key Rig. Download and install the KeyRig Updater. This Updater is
necessary for XP SP3 and Vista compatibility. It also removes the ASIO driver
requirement so you can use the built-in sound card on your computer, and removes the
need to certify Key Rig.

Once updated, launch Key Rig, go to the M-Audio Key Rig Menu and select Preferences.
Here you can configure your sound card, MIDI input, and buffer size (to adjust the
latency).

Note: If you plan on using Key Rig as a VST plug-in, you will need to copy the updated
M-Audio Key Rig.dll file to your host DAW application's VST plug-ins folder. The updated
M-Audio Key Rig.dll installs to C:\Program Files\M-Audio\KeyRig. Copy the "M-Audio Key
Rig.dll" file; then paste this .dll file into your host DAW's VST plug-ins folder, e.g.
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins.

The Mac Updater includes support for Intel baesd Mac's, the latest bug fixes, and also
removes the need to certify Key Rig. The KeyRig 25 and KeyRig 49 keyboards are plug
and play on Mac OS X, there are no drivers to install. Simply connect the keyboard to an
available USB port.
If this is the first time you are installing Key Rig on your Mac, copy the Key Rig Data
folder to the Applications folder on your hard drive. Run the "Set Key Rig Data Location"
app in the Key Rig Data folder. Download and install the Key Rig Updater.
If KeyRig is already installed, run the "Set Key Rig Data Location" app in the Key Rig
Data folder, and then download and install the Key Rig Updater.
