FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Despite our increased understanding and appreciation of the doctrine that in the One God there are three persons,
(Father, Son and Holy Spirit) we are acutely aware that this is a mystery beyond mere human understanding or
reason, so that we never really have a “handle” on it. We can never claim to understand the dogma of the Blessed
Trinity with arrogant clarity…
Our Christian community is a necessary one devoted to the Persons of the Trinity, together and singularly. And to
be genuinely devoted to the Triune God means, for us, being not only intellectually aware of, but spiritually in tune
with, the doctrine of the Blessed Trinity. For us this means, then, a real appreciation of the Fatherhood of God as
seen in creation and providence…
It means a real identification with Jesus who ministered to others on earth as true man, just as He is present to us
and to the world through us in the Church as true God and true man, in His triumphant resurrection…
It means finally, a willingness to follow the One whom the Father and the Son sent to us, the Holy Spirit, who will
guide us to truth…
Happy Father’s Day
The earthly father takes his name of the Father who is in Heaven. Like He, who is in Heaven, takes care of His
children on earth, so the earthly father should take care of his children. To be a father means to not only have the
honor, but also the responsibilities before God the Father for his family.
Therefore I wish EACH and EVERY FATHER to be the best imitator of the Father in Heaven in their daily responsibilities. Then, and only then, you, as fathers, will be rewarded by the Father of all of us.
Dear Fathers, may God’s grace be with you always to fulfill these praiseworthy duties of yours.
To all our Fathers in the Parish, please accept a pen as a small token of our heartfelt wishes of love and happiness
this Father’s Day. God Bless You!
Two New Bishops for the Archdiocese of Chicago
I imagine that by now everybody has heard of the great news: that His Holiness Pope
Benedict XVI has appointed two new auxiliary bishops to the Archdiocese of Chicago. On
June 13th, during a press conference Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I. announced the
bishop-designates: Fr. Alberto Rojas, the pastor of Good Shepherd Parish and
Fr. Andrew Wypych, the pastor of St. Francis Borgia Parish.
I am almost sure that most of our parishioners remember Fr. Andrew Wypych, who was
the pastor of this parish from 1996-1999.

as they shepherd the flock of Vicariates III & V of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Sacred Heart Devotions During The Month Of June
The month of June in the Church is devoted to Sacred Heart of Jesus. We will have Sacred Heart Devotions in
English on Thursdays at 6:00 pm in the church and on Saturdays after the 4:00 pm Mass. The Sacred Heart
Devotions will be in Polish on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:00 pm in the church, and the
Litany will be sung on Sundays at 10:15 am.
Parish Pastoral Council for 2011-2012
According to the Norms of Parish Councils, members must be rotated. After two years, four of the council members are being replaced. Outgoing council members are: Casey Niedos, Frank Tokarz, Deborah Waitekus, and
Joseph Michniak. I thank them for their active presence at the meetings, as well as for their suggestions, ideas
and work during the last two years - the first years of the Parish Council’s existence in our parish. These two first
years weren’t easy ones indeed! We all had a lot to learn!!!
At this time, I would like to welcome the new members of the Parish Council: Marion Valle, Jesse Zajączkowski,
Martin Razo, and Barbara Liszka.
So, the members of the Parish Council for 2011-2012 will be: Aniela Bartoszek, Ewa Chrzanowska, William Galka,
Regina Grynkiewicz, Małgorzata Guziak, Barbara Liszka, Martin Razo, Marion Valle, Cindy Witowski, and Jesse Zajączkowski. A special blessing upon all the members of the Parish Pastoral Council will take place next Sunday,
June 26th at 9:00 am Mass. I ask all parishioners to pray for our new Parish Pastoral Council.

Father Jacek Nowak On Vacation
Fr. Jacek has left for his annual vacation this passed Thursday. He will spend his time of rest with his parents and
family in Poland. We wish Fr. Jacek God’s blessings, health and lots of joy during his vacation time. Fr. Jacek will
be back in the Parish in the middle of July. Have a pleasant vacation Father!!!
Corpus Christi Procession – June 26th – after the 10:30 am Mass
Our Parish Corpus Christi procession will take place after the 10:30 am Mass next Sunday within our parking lot.
The first altar- prepared by the Parish Pastoral Council members- will be along Francisco Ave.; the second altarprepared by the Scouts- will be along 44th St.; the third altar- prepared by the Holy Name of Jesus Society and
Pro-Life Group- will be along Richmond St.; and the fourth altar- prepared by the Pope John Paul II Centrum Committee- will be at the existing Papal altar.
I ask as many Parishioners as possible to participate in this procession, which is the external sign of our belief in
the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The children who received First Holy Communion this year are
asked to come dressed in their Communion attire (girsl-white dresses and boys-suits)to participate in the procession by scattering flower petals before the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament. I also invite all the young men
and women who were confirmed this year to join in the procession as well.
Please note that because of this procession, there will not be a noon Mass next Sunday.
The Birth of St. John the Baptist – June 24th
Jesus called John the greatest of all those who had preceded him. But John would have agreed completely with
what Jesus added: “Yet the least born into the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
John’s purpose was to prepare the way for Jesus. His baptism, he said, was for repentance. But One would come
who would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire. John’s attitude toward Jesus was: “He must increase, I must
decrease.” “And this not something which was only true once, long ago in the past. It is always true, because the
repentance which he preached always remains the way into the kingdom which is announced. He is not a figure
that we can forget now that Jesus, the true light, has appeared. John is always relevant because he calls for a
preparation which all men need to make. Hence every year there are four weeks in the life of the Church in which
it listens to the voice of the Baptist. These are the weeks of Advent.” (A New Catechism)
Feast of Corpus Christi – The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
The Eucharistic procession in honor of the Body and Blood of Christ will be a week from this Sunday, but let us all
begin today to make spiritual preparations for what symbolically will manifest our physical procession with the
Blessed Sacrament to four altars next Sunday. The annual celebration of this feast causes us to reflect and to look
one more time at the Eucharist…
During the procession, we will discover anew that in the white wafer there is Jesus Christ Himself. We need such a
refreshed look… Too many different accretions blur the picture of Jesus… Sometimes we may be embarrassed to
face the Blessed Sacrament… or we may have forgotten how to behave in front of the Eucharist… or we do not
even notice it… During the procession on the feast of Corpus Christi, we will have the chance to discover the fact
that Christ is present in the Blessed Sacrament - not only because we think so, but that He is there because He
wants to be, because He wants to be close to us… But man discovers His presence only according to the extent of
his own faith and love.
While we will watch Jesus passing from one altar of adoration to another, we will feel that we are not alone, that
He is with us. Moreover, we will understand that seeing Jesus in this way brings into our soul a peace, God’s
peace, and at the same time it opens our soul to the needs of other people…
Such a great power exists in the Eucharist!!!
In the Eucharist we can read out the depths of God’s love toward us. Through it, a man himself may become the
Eucharist for other people and understand that from now on there cannot be a division among us or other people;
the whole world on one side, and I on the other side…
The Eucharist, and only the Eucharist teaches us that we all are one; that in the Eucharist, through the Eucharist
and from the Eucharist it is possible to build unity and love, to introduce agreement and common understanding.

40 Weeks In The Womb–Week 13
Chris now sleeps, awakens, and exercises the
muscles energetically (we should take some
lessons from thi!) Turning of the head,
curling of the toes, making a fist, opening
and closing the mouth while „breathing” the amniotic
fluid to help develop the respiratory system, Chris is
very active in the womb. Chris is still a lightweight—
weighing about one ounce—about as much as a letter.
If the Doctor uses a Fetal Doppler, it won’t be the
weather that is seen, but the baby’s heartbeat will be
heard, sounding much like galloping horses.

Z BIURKA PROBOSZCZA
Co to znaczy wierzyć w Boga? Znaczy to uznanie nie tylko istnienia Stwórcy, ale także zaakceptować Jezusa
Chrystusa. Bowiem, „kto wierzy w Niego, nie podlega potępieniu, a kto nie wierzy, już został potępiony, bo nie
uwierzył w imię Jednorodzonego Syna Bożego”.
Z kolei: zaakceptowanie Syna Bożego zakłada przyjęcie Ducha Świętego, tego Daru od Ojca i Syna, którego
wejście w nasze życie próbowaliśmy odczytać w ubiegłą niedzielę…
Ojciec, Syn, Duch Święty – TRÓJCA PRZENAJŚWIĘTSZA – JEDEN BÓG W TAJEMNICY TRZECH OSÓB.
Podczas naszego chrztu weszliśmy w tę wspólnotę z Ojcem, Synem i Duchem Świętym. Tym samym zostaliśmy
włączeni w realizację zbawczego Planu Boga. A stajemy się realizatorami tego PLANU, gdy przemieniamy ten świat
w bardziej ludzki i bardziej Boży świat – w imię Ojca, i Syna i Ducha Świętego…
Dzień Ojców Dzisiaj
W dniu dzisiejszym cała Ameryka i jej obywatele wyrażają wdzięczność OJCOM. Pamiętamy dziś nie tylko o
naszych ojcach żyjących, ale także i o tych, którzy już odeszli po swoją nagrodę do Ojca ojców. Za tych modlimy
się dzisiaj szczególnie gorąco, aby ich zapłatą za życie, które nam dali, za ich troskliwość nad nami, było teraz
NIEBO.
Ojcom żyjącym, nie tylko dzisiaj, ale każdego dnia, okazujmy szacunek, miłość i wdzięczność.
OJCOWIE, DRODZY RODACY, W DNIU Waszego święta życzymy Wam, abyście przy każdej okazji wszczepiali w
swoje dzieci miłość do Pana Boga i podtrzymywali w nich polskie tradycje, które Wy przyjęliście od Swoich ojców.
Niech Ojciec Niebieski wspiera Was swoją siłą i łaskami tak bardzo potrzebnymi do wypełniania zadań

Z radością przyjęliśmy wiadomość, na którą czekaliśmy kilka miesięcy, że archidiecezja
nasza otrzymała dwóch nowych biskupów i to spośród księży z naszej diecezji. Są nimi:
Ks. Alberto Rojas, proboszcz parafii Dobrego Pasterza i Ks. Andrzej Wypych, proboszcz
parafii Św. Franciszka Borgia. Gratulujemy obu biskupom-elektom i życzymy im
błogosławieństwa Bożego w ich biskupiej posłudze biskupiej w Archidiecezji.
Z radością przyjęliśmy wiadomość o papieskim wyborze Ks. Andrzeja Wypycha na
pomocniczego biskupa w Archidiecezji Chicago, jako że ks. Biskup-elekt Wypych spełniał
funkcję proboszcza w Parafii Pięciu Braci Męczenników Polski w latach: 1996-1999. Jest
on więc znany wielu naszym parafianom i dlatego Ks. Biskup Andrzej może liczyć na
nasze modlitwy i duchowe wsparcie w każdej potrzebie i w każdym czasie.

Nabożeństwa Czerwcowe
Czerwiec jest miesiąc poświęcony szczególnej czci Najśw. Serca Pana Jezusa. Tak jak w maju oddawaliśmy cześć
Matce Najśw., tak w czerwcu będziemy się gromadzić w poniedziałki, wtorki, środy i w piątki o godz. 6pm w
kościele śpiewem litanii, uczcić Najświętsze Serce otwarte włócznią z miłości do nas. W niedzielę o godz. 10:15 am
będziemy śpiewać Litanię do N.S.P.J.
Rada Parafialna na rok 2011-2012
Według regulaminu dla Rad Parafialnych, musi być rotacja członków Rady Parafialnej. Stąd, po dwóch latach
odejdą z naszej Rady czterech jej członków: Frank Tokarz, Casey Niedos, Józef Michniak, Deborah Waitekus.
Dziękuję im za aktywny udział w posiedzeniach Rady, jak również za ich sugestie, idee i pracę w ciągu ostatnich
dwóch lat, a pierwszych latach istnienia naszej Rady Parafialnej. Były to naprawdę trudne dwa lata. Wiele
musieliśmy się podczas nich nauczyć!
Tym razem witam nowych radnych, którzy zastąpią czterech, którzy odeszli. Nowymi Radnymi są: Marion Valle,
Jesse Zajączkowski, Martin Razo, i Barbara Liszka.
A zatem, nasz nowy skład Rady Parafialnej na rok 2011-2012 będzie: Aniela Bartoszek, Ewa Chrzanowska, William
Galka, Regina Grynkiewicz, Małgorzata Guziak, Barbara Liszka, Martin Razo, Marion Valle, Cindy Witowski, i Jesse
Zajączkowski. Specjalne błogosławieństwo dla członków nowej Rady będzie miało miejsce 26 czerwca podczas
Mszy św. o godzinie 9:00 a.m.. Bardzo proszę wszystkich Parafian o modlitwę w intencji Radnych, abyśmy mogli
służyć Parafii jak najlepiej.

Ks. Jacek na Urlop
W ostatni czwartek Ks. Jacek wyleciał do Polski, gdzie z rodzicami i rodzeństwem spędzi swój doroczny urlop.
Ks. Jackowi życzymy na czas wakacji błogosławieństwa Bożego, zdrowia i radości. Ks. Jacek powróci do parafii w
połowie lipca.
Procesja ku czci Bożego Ciała i Krwi Najświętszej – 26 czerwca, po Mszy św. o godzinie 10:30 a.m.
Procesja i ołtarze będą wewnątrz naszego parkingu. Procesja rozpocznie się od kościoła i przyjdzie do pierwszego
ołtarza, który będzie ustawiony przy ulicy Francisco; drugi ołtarz będzie przy ulicy 44-tej, trzeci ołtarz będzie
ustawiony przy ulicy Richmond, a zakończenie procesji będzie przy ołtarzu Papieskim.
Pierwszy ołtarz przygotuje Rada Parafialna; drugi-Amerykańscy harcerze; trzeci - Tow. Imienia Jezus i Pro-Life;
czwarty – Centrum Papieskie.
Bardzo proszę o liczny udział w tym zewnętrznym znaku naszej wiary w rzeczywistą obecność Pana Jezusa w
Najświętszym Sakramencie. Dzieci w strojach pierwszokomunijnych i młodzież bierzmowana tego roku pójdą w
procesji tuż za ministrantami, a dziewczynki sypiące płatki kwiatków - przed Najświętszym Sakramentem.
W związku z procesją Bożego Ciała nie będzie Mszy św. w dniu 26 czerwca o godzinie 12:00.
Narodzenie Jana Chrzciciela – 24 czerwca
Święto to zaprasza nas to refleksji nad dzieckiem, matką, rodziną… Wielka radość matki, ojca z urodzenia dziecka:
niepokój, oczekiwanie, prezenty, gratulacje… Tak, dziecko to wielki dar Boży, z którym łączy się czasem trudne
zadanie życiowe dla rodziców… Od rodziców zależy, aby Bóg stał się siłą ich dziecka… Wtedy tylko będzie ono
światłością dla pogan i obojętnych ludzi. Jeżeli rodzice będą ludźmi po myśli Bożej…, którzy we wszystkim
wypełniają Jego wolę, dobrze przekażą naukę o zbawieniu swojemu dziecku…
Elżbieta i Zachariasz – to małżonkowie, którzy z wielką radością przyjęli ten dar Boży, wielbiąc Jego miłosierdzie i
okazując Mu całkowite posłuszeństwo. W tym klimacie „chłopiec rósł i wzmacniał się duchem”.
Jak wyrażamy wdzięczność wobec Pana Boga za swoje dzieci, które są darem Bożym? Ten dar nakłada obowiązek
na rodziców – czy i nasze dzieci „rosną i wzmacniają się duchem?”
Procesja ku czci Bożego Ciała
Jakkolwiek Boże Ciało i procesja ku Jego czci będzie za tydzień, to jednak już dzisiaj chciejmy się przygotować
duchowo to tego, czego symbolem będzie nasza fizyczna Eucharystyczna procesja do czterech ołtarzy.
Tak, ta doroczna uroczystość tego święta skłania człowieka do ponownego spojrzenia na Eucharystię. Podczas
procesji, nawet najskromniejszej, można na nowo odkryć, że w tym białym opłatku jest sam Chrystus.
Potrzebne jest człowiekowi takie odświeżenie. Zbyt bowiem wiele naleciałości zatarło obraz Chrystusa. Czasami
można czuć się zaambarasowany wobec Najświętszego Sakramentu…, można zapomnieć, ajk się zachować wobec
niego…, a może nawet nie dostrzec go…
W dzień Bożego Ciała, podczas procesji, będzie okazja odkrycia ponownie faktu, że Chrystus jest obecny w
Najświętszym Sakramencie nie dlatego, że tak człowiek myśli, ale ON tam jest, bo ON tak chce, bo ON chce być
blisko nas…, a człowiek odkrywa Jego obecność tylko w zależności od stopnia i siły swojej wiary i miłości.
Wpatrując się w przechodzącego Chrystusa Pana od ołtarza do ołtarza, odczujemy, że nie jesteśmy sami, że ON
jest z nami; więcej, odczujemy i zrozumiemy, że takie spojrzenie na Chrystusa Eucharystycznego sprowadzi spokój
do duszy i jednocześnie otworzy ją na [potrzeby drugiego człowieka… Taką bowiem siłę ma Eucharystia!!!
W niej można odczytać głębię oddania się Boga dla człowieka. Przez nią człowiek sam stać się może Eucharystią
dla innych ludzi i zrozumieć, że odtąd nie może być rozdziału: inni ludzie, cały świat – po jednej stronie, ja – po
drugiej stronie…
Eucharystia i tylko ona nauczy nas, że jesteśmy jedno; że w Eucharystii, przez Eucharystię i w Eucharystii można
budować jedność i miłość, wprowadzać zgodę i zrozumienie.
Jeśli ktoś chce wiedzieć, jaka jest jego wiara w obecność Chrystusa w Eucharystii, niech zapyta siebie, ile razy był
na wtorkowej adoracji Najświętszego Sakramentu w naszym kościele?

ofiarodawcom, za ich hojność i dobroć dziękuję z całego serca! A innych Parafian zachęcam do hojności, jako, że
chcemy obecnie skupić się tylko na dachu kościelnym, tym bardziej, że będziemy musieli wymienić również i
najwyższy dach. Wszystko jest w rękach Pana Boga i ludzi dobrej woli.
