Let me have a look at your hands. C: You won’t be impressed. I must admit I’ve neglected them a bit. M: True! I’m not. You haven’t used rubber gloves in the kitchen as I asked you last time you were here. C: Not really. Not that I don’t have them. It’s just this rush. M: We’ll try to make your hands look and feel better, but you could also do something for them. C: I know I must. I do feel embarrassed by their appearance sometimes. M: Well, have a look... I think you’ll like this shape. And now plunge your hands into this bowl. Isn’t the water too hot for you? C: No. It’s just fine. And what is this nice scent? M: I’ve added a bit of scented oil to the water to make your hands softer. C: That’s great! I hope it will make them softer. They have become sort of hard and rough recently. M: That’s because you haven’t done anything for them. C: Yes. I’ve almost completely forgotten that I should at least use some moisturising cream on them daily. M: I’ll now treat your hands with an exfoliating cream to get rid of at least some of this rough stuff. C: Can you, really? M: Don’t expect a miracle, but your hands will certainly look and feel better after I’ve applied some nourishing cream to them after exfoliation. C: I promise to take better care of my hands. Any cosmetics you could recommend to me? Task 1 Talk about Martyna’s client. Task 2 Talk about the reasons why women’s hands do not always look the way they could and should look. Task 3 Act out the dialogue. 212 5w203-268dawniej199-266.indd 212 2006-02-17 15:26:53
