Case study 1
Background: A Danish manufacturer of clothing (Top 10 in Scandinavia) with
distribution network in Northern European countries asked for consultancy to move
their order from China’s factories to Vietnam due to cost reasons.
What we offered: We provided consultancy services in 2 separate stages: (1)
locating/qualifying Vietnam’s textile/garment factories, interviewing them based on
the questionnaire/criteria built by us and the client. The Danish manufacturer came
to Vietnam to make all the site-visit with us at short-listed candidates, assessing all
factors to choose the final 2 factories to work with; (2) After this the client could
choose (i) to work directly with 2 factories, open their buying office in Vietnam or (ii)
use our company or other purchase agent to act as their de-facto sourcing office.
For this we charged a agent fee, based on the amount of yearly order. They chose
the latter one.
Outcome: Until now we continue working with each other. We have a dedicated team
working with them, some staffs permanently at the 2 factories to overseeing the
production, conducting daily inspection report. We also assist the client by supplying
materials from client’s sources in Asia, importing to Vietnam, handling all logistics inand out- of factories.
Case study 2
Background: An Israeli association in agricultural technology aimed to enter Vietnam,
offering technology transfer to increase productivity for Vietnam’s crop farming. They
asked us to conduct a market assessment and finding the right partner/ association
to work with.
What we offered: We conducted the market assessment, finding how the existing
productivity for this crop was in Vietnam, which was less than half of the Israeli one.
Seeing the opportunity, we made some trips to talk with the farm owners and more
importantly, to the industry association which whole-buys the final products from the
farming sites. A pilot project was offered to the Vietnam’s association, in which all
technologies, machines required were supplied by the Israeli partner on the expense
of Vietnam’s partner (technology transfer fee).
Outcome: 2 farms were selected for the pilot project. The Israeli association sent 3
experts to Vietnam to work on daily-basis in that project: a crop specialist, an
irrigation specialist and a civil engineer. The project is now in the 3rd and final year,
with the Vietnam’s partner able to acquire all the technology. We have been acting
as coordination point for the project. Our fee is paid by the Israeli association.
