The buzz of working machinery, the smell of printing ink
The buzz of working machinery, the smell of printing ink in the air, lavish stands,
business talks behind the scenes – this year’s edition of POLIGRAFIA is already over…
POLIGRAFIA 2007 was visited by 14,000 professional attendees. Over 500 companies from
dozens of countries presented their offers at 330 stands (in 2005 – 289 stands). The trade fair
exposition area reached almost 11,000 m2, i.e. it was almost 30 % larger than in 2005.
The majority of exhibitors presented printing machinery – 64 companies (in 2005 – 18), and
bindery and postpress equipment – 68 companies (in 2005 – 7).
The programme of the show included events that were tested during previous editions, as well
as new and significant projects.
The Printing Conference organised for the fifth time by the Polish Chamber of Printing
attracted many participants. The theme of this year’s edition was: “Modern IT solutions in
printing”.
The sector representatives met also at the 24th Scientific and Technical Conference Policon
2007 organised by the Polish Printers’ Corporation SIMP.
A special exposition called the Polish Printers’ Village was located in Pavilion 3A.27
companies participated in it.
The Printing Boot Camp held on 29-30 March was very popular among young printers. It
attracted 894 participants divided into 16 groups. The Printing Boot Camp was organised
thanks to the inspiration by the Foundation of Printing Staff Training and the involvement of
many exhibitors. Educational and training facilities were installed there. Students of printing
schools had a unique opportunity to see various printing technologies witnessed “live”. The
following companies supported the project by making machinery available: EMIS, KONICA,
MINOLTA, RISET, SCORPIO, SKK and X-RITE. Moreover, the Printing Boot Camp was
accompanied by a series of lectures prepared by: EUKALIN, INFOSYSTEMS, MEDIA
CENTER and QUARK.
Crowds of visitors came to a special exposition entitled Retro printing technology organised
in cooperation with exhibitors who are passionate about old-time printing devices. New
exhibits and new important contacts have been gained for the future thanks to this initiative.
On each trade fair day, the Editorial Board of “Poligrafika” published “Poligrafia daily”, a
trade fair gazette. A special gazette was also published by the Editorial Board of “Świat
Poligrafii”. Many trade fair visitors admired the stand of the “Świat Druku” Editorial Board
and “The printing of the past centuries” shows.
