Z poważaniem, Ewa Kisiel Dyrektor Biura TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Reference on behalf of Katarzyna BZDYK I am delighted to write a reference on behalf of Ms. BZDYK, whom I came to know very well during the course of her studies on the MA Translation Studies programme at the University of Hull (2007-2009), especially in my capacity as her dissertation supervisor. Katarzyna is an exceptional student in every regard. Not only did she complete her MA to a very high standard, but she supported herself during her studies by working as a Teaching Assistant at a local school. Given the onerous nature of the work demanded of a Teaching Assistant these days, her excellent results on the MA programme are all the more meritorious, especially as she was competing against a number of well qualified British students benefiting from studying in their own native language. Her contribution to class discussion was always excellent, she engaged well both with members of staff and with fellow students, and her written work was always of the highest order. Indeed, she was well worthy of the Distinction she received (her dissertation was among the best of her year group). More generally, not only was she open to new ideas but she also displayed an excellent grasp of the theoretical dimensions of the subject which she integrated convincingly into her practical work. In addition to her native language, her written and spoken English are both excellent, and she has a good working knowledge of Italian, Spanish and French. She is organised and efficient. She works well either without supervision or as part of a team. I always found her entirely trustworthy and reliable. In short, Ms. BZDYK is a bright and intelligent graduate linguist with excellent skills as a translator and teacher. She has a lively, engaging personality, possesses a strong work ethic, has highly developed interpersonal skills, and is a dependable team player. I have no hesitation in recommending her for any position involving translation work, teaching, or, indeed, should she decide to develop this side of her career, general management or work in the legal or financial sector. Yours faithfully, Dr Terry Hale Director of Studies, BA and MA Translation Programmes, University of Hull. Email: [email protected]
