XII. Jesus Dies on the Cross
The tree now lives in glory.
The roots reach into the depths of the universe which had been asleep.
Creation is able to breathe again as intended.
The Word has spoken Truth...Love.
Such beauty in suffering has never before graced the earth.
The silent flow of life from the body on the cross is baptizing time.
The blood of the Lamb flows like a river past the stars throughout heaven, purgatory, hell…
The Word has spoken Truth….Love.
Angels tremble at this display.
The heartbeat of ‘being’ is ‘becoming.’
Alpha and Omega.
The Word has spoken Truth….Love.
Lucifer rises in rebellion again.
Mankind will forever have that tree as its sword.
Eden’s tree fades.
The Word has spoken Truth….Love.

REMEMBER: We need a collection of $6,000 per week to meet our budget. June is the last month of our fiscal year.
PASTORAL MESSAGE
CYTRYNÓWKA
“Vitamins” we call it — it’s filled
with vitamin C! Sometimes we fake a
slight cough in order to justify taking
an extra one. “Na Zdrowie!” Then
down goes the burning/frozen, sweet/
sour elixir. “Whaaa!” Another one?
Whenever we walk into the rectory
and our noses are greeted with the
sweet aroma of lemons and limes, we
know that something is cooking in the
kitchen. Fr. George is at it again, preparing more of the wonderful treat that he dispenses generously to guests from near
and far. Using a recipe brought from his homeland and done
with his own special touch, his famous “Spirit-Juice” has
chilled many a glass!
Now, whenever I smell lemons, I’ll think of Fr. George.
This weekend we say good-bye and thank-you to a good
friend, a holy priest, a faithful servant of the People of God.
After almost seven years of ministry at Saint Stanislaus, Fr.
George is to be transferred to Saint Mary of the Falls parish,
where he will continue his priestly ministry to the good people
there beginning June 6.
Falls is re I am a priest for the people. Olmsted
ceiving a wonderful
new priest, a man who is deeply committed to God and the mission of the Church. He is prayerful, caring, hardworking, and
delightful to have around. Our loss is their gain.
My first meeting with Fr. George was seven years ago at a
restaurant on Rockside, when Fr. Willy and I met him to see
what kind of priest was interested in coming to St. Stan’s. After the death of Fr. Alcuin, Fr. Willy knew we needed some
help with Polish ministry. At that time, still we were waiting
for word about whether a Franciscan would be available. In the
meantime, Bishop Pilla agreed to invite Fr. George to help out.
As Fr. Willy described to Fr. George our style ministry and living together, his simple answer was, “I am a priest for the people.” That was exactly the right answer for Fr. Willy!
He has been with us in so many ways, in so many places.
Preaching the Gospel; anointing the sick; teaching our children;
kicking the soccer ball around with friends; dancing at festivals
and weddings; enjoying dinner with friends; mourning with the
grief-stricken. He has brought an enthusiasm for Polish culture
that has deepened our connection with the larger Polish community, both here in our parish and in the larger community.
Plus, he is a lot of fun to live with!
On a personal note, I am deeply grateful to Fr. George in
helping me to know better my own Polish heritage, which had
not been a large part of my upbringing. His perspectives on
church, ministry, devotion, and culture have expanded my own
vision as well. But perhaps the memory that resides most
deeply is that intense week of grief shared when our friend and
mentor, Fr. Willy, was murdered in our home and sent to his
rest by a dazed and heartbroken community. Fr. George was a
good friend in the midst of sadness, a dedicated servant in the
midst of rebuilding, and a hope-filled priest in the midst of beginning again.
Fr. George, on behalf of a grateful parish, thank you for
your dedication and service. We remain close in prayer. And if
there is a sale on lemons…
Fr. Michael

ROZSTANIA
Czterdziesci dni po swoim
zmartwychwstaniu Jezus
Chrystus
wstepuje do nieba.
Konczy w ten
s p o s ó b o k r e s u k a z y w a n i a s ie
apostolom i innym bliskim Mu
ludziom. Uczniom wydawalo sie, ze
rozstaja sie na zawsze, ze konczy sie
wszystko, co bylo takie niezwykle, ze
juz nie zaznaja radosci przebywania ze
swoim Mistrzem. Ale w rzeczywistosci okazalo sie to, tylko
czysto ludzkimi sentymentami. Obietnica Chrystusa, ze nie
pozostana sami szybko zostala zrealizowana. Zycie pokazalo,
ze napelnieni „Moca z wysoka” i zakorzenieni w modlitewnej
lacznosci z Mistrzem, uczniowie kontynuowali Jego dzielo
dajac podwaliny Kosciolowi, którego my - wierzacy - jestesmy
czlonkami do dzis. Kazdy z nas jest w te spolecznosc wlaczony
i kazdy ma okreslone zadania do wypelnienia. Sztuka jest
rozpoznac te powinnosci; w tym chce nam pomóc Duch
Swiety.
Rozwazajac tresc dzisiejszej uroczystosci i obserwujac
wydarzenia wokól nas chcialo by sie przywolac slowa
piosenki: „Nic nie moze wiecznie trwac…”. Kazdy czas, kazda
sytuacja kiedys sie konczy, najczesciej po to, by mogla
rozpoczac sie nowa. Jezus rozstal sie z apostolami, aby historia
zbawienia mogla biec dalej i dlatego zeslal im Ducha Swietego,
aby ich umacnial w gloszeniu swiatu Jego Ewangelii. Obiecal
im równiez, ze przyjdzie do nich powtórnie, (z kazdym spotka
sie przy koncu swiata).
Kosciól w swojej strukturze jest instytucja dynamiczna,
rozwijajaca sie, bedaca w nieustannym ruchu. Potwierdzaja to
wydarzenia wokól nas. Poczynajac od góry - w naszej diecezji
Cleveland - zmiany biskupów, swiecenia nowych ksiezy i
przenoszenie ich do nowych parafii. Tymi procesami „
dotknieta” zostala równiez parafia sw. Stanislawa. Kiedys w tej
parafii musialo to nastapic, A sa ku temu przynajmniej dwa
powody: brak ksiezy oraz zakonny charakter wspólnoty. Takie
sa wymogi w tej diecezji. W poprzednich latach kadencja
wikariusza trwala piec lat, obecnie juz po czterech latach
powinien zmienic parafie.
Istotne
znaczenie w moim zyciu kaplanskim ma zakonczony niedawno
proces inkardynacji czyli przejscie do pelnej przynaleznosci do
tej diecezji; wczesniej jeszcze - „zielona karta” dzieki
pozytywnym decyzjom wladz koscielnych. Proces zmian nabral
tempa i naturalna konsekwencja tego sa takze moje przenosiny
do innej parafii. Jest to kolejny etap ku dalszym zmianom (mam
nadzieje kiedys ku mojemu probostwu).
Wyglada na to, ze to moje ostatnie pisanie w tym miejscu;
wiec do spotykania sie na innych lamach, w innych miejscach i
innych sytuacjach. Niech wszystkim blogoslawi Bóg
Wszechmogacy, a najlepsza z Matek ma w swojej opiece.

ST. STANS HISTORICAL FACT
The two plaques on the Sacred
Heart side altar in the sanctuary contain the names of 72 servicemen from
our Parish who lost their lives in World
War II. The Honor Rolls are inscribed
on the top in Polish, “Ku Wieczniej
Pamieci,” (In Eternal Memory). They
contain the names ranging alphabetically from Apanasewicz to Zub. Although there were more than 72 Paris hioners who lost their lives in World
War II, some families, hoping for the
return of their loved ones, preferred not
to have them listed on this memorial.
