Lighting of the Advent Candle
Before the Mass begins each Sunday during
Advent, there is a prayer and the ceremony of lighting
the Advent Candle. If you and members of your family
would like to offer your services for this liturgical
celebration, please call the office or see Fr. Adam
about the time and date that you would prefer.
Blessing and Opening of the Door of Mercy
As the extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy begins on
December 8th join Bishop Crosby and parishioners
from across the Diocese for the celebration of the
blessing and opening of the Door of Mercy at the
Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, Hamilton on
Sunday, December 13th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The
celebration will begin in McNally Hall (basement of
the Cathedral Basilica) and then move to the doors for
the blessing and opening, and then into the Cathedral
for the rest of the celebration of the Word. The Holy
Father has emphasized that the practice of pilgrimage
has a special place in a Holy Year, since it represents
the journey of our life. Some people may be especially
blessed to make a journey to St. Peter’s in Rome this
year. But for most our own Cathedral Basilica is a
more realistic destination and for that reason four
pilgrimage days have been set on various Sundays:
January 3rd, February 21st, May 15th and October 16th.
So that the practice of pilgrimage might be experienced
widely across our Diocese, Bishop Crosby has also
designated six Sacred Heart parishes in Hamilton,
Kitchener, Paris, Georgetown, Guelph and Walkerton
as additional pilgrimage sites. Each parish will offer
Mass, Confessions and other devotions on First
Fridays during the Jubilee Year (February 5th, April 1st,
May 6th, June 3rd, September 2nd, and October 7th).
With the universal Church, the diocese will also
celebrate “24 Hours for the Lord” on Friday, March
4th and Saturday, March 5th with extensive hours of

Świeca Adwentowa
Rozpoczęliśmy okres Adwentu. Jednym
z najbardziej wymownych zwyczajów Adwentu jest
zapalanie świec adwentowych. Rodziny, które
pragnęłyby wziąć udział w ceremonii zapalania świec,
proszone są o wybranie daty, godziny i powiadomienie
kancelarii parafialnej lub ks. Adama.

NMP – Rozpoczęcie Jubileuszowego Roku
Miłosierdzia
Przez cały okres Roku Jubileuszowego jesteśmy
wezwani, aby rozważać cnotę Boskiego Miłosierdzia,
tak abyśmy i my sami mogli stać się "miłosierni jak
Bóg Ojciec." W niedzielę, 13 grudnia o godzinie 7:00
wieczorem będziemy świętować otwarcie Drzwi
Miłosierdzia w naszej Bazylice Katedralnej Chrystusa
Króla w Hamilton. Biskup Crosby zachęca wszystkich
wiernych, aby wziąć udział w tej podniosłej celebracji.
Ojciec Święty Franciszek podkreślił, że praktyka
pielgrzymowania ma wyjątkowe znaczenie w Roku
Świętym ponieważ opisuje podróż naszego życia. Z tej
to racji nasza Bazylika Katedralna w Hamilton została
ustanowiona głównym miejscem pielgrzymek w
diecezji. W tym celu zostały wybrane cztery

w piątek, 4 marca i sobotę, 5 marca. Dodatkowe
godziny spowiedzi będą oferowane w sześciu
pielgrzymkowych parafiach na terenie całej diecezji
tak, aby miłosierdzie Pana mogło być wylane w
