The current situation
Half-full creosote container, partly cut is
the most dangerous source of
contamination.
Old basement used as big underground
creosote container – for the emergency
situation (e.g. fire)
The debris material – have to be selected and reused
Degraded surface and several waste dumps
(incl. dangerous waste)
Dumps of contaminated ground and
debris:
• unable base remediation and land
redevelopment;
• there are a secondary grounds’ and
waters’ contamination source;
Deserted area is full of
rubbish and traces left by
unauthorised people who
entered the area
Main issue – contamination of soil and groundwater
Distinct vertical border
of contaminated soil
Concentration of PAH in soil and in groundwater– test results

What now?
• Solec Kujawski has all required documents needed
to conduct remediation works
• Remediation project was already accepted by
authorities. The project includes using optimal
technologies (”technology
technology train”)
train
• Land’s owner applied for funding for land’s
remediation
• Currently, we are expecting final decision in March
2012.
