Thank you for your generosity to the parish. This collection
was more than usual, but it reflects the attendance in church
because of last week’s snowstorm.
Stewardship Note. Good stewards are like the industrious and
reliable servants in today’s Gospel, prudently using and multiplying the gifts entrusted to them by God.
Word of Life. Every child conceived by in vitro fertilization is
truly deserving of respect and love - each is a human person,
regardless of the manner of conception. However the way they
are brought into the world does not live up to their dignity.
THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Blessed are you who fear the Lord.
—Psalm 128:1a
CHANGE OUR LIVES
The letters of Paul to the Thessalonians are among his earliest writings, and are driven by his belief and the belief of the
entire early Christian community that the return of Christ was
imminent, and that devoting time or attention to anything else
was foolish.
As time progressed, this fervor subsided a bit. Today we
may wonder, when we hear these readings about the coming
end-times, if we should take them to heart, if we really believe
that Christ still may come upon us as a “thief at
night” (1Thessalonians 5:2). Does this mean that we are to stop
our long-range goal-setting, get rid of our yearly calendars and
planners, or stop putting money in the college education fund?
Of course not. What it does mean is that we need to change our
lives, living like children of the light and illuminating the world
around us with the light of the gospel. Then, on that day, when
the details of our daily living become unimportant, we will be
ready to find our peace and security in Christ Jesus.

ALL SOULS DAY
The month of November is dedicated to prayer and acts of charity on behalf of our deceased loved ones. It is interesting to note
that St. Paul compares the ways in which Christians live their
lives to different buildings. We all are building on the same
foundation who is Christ. They are built with various materials—gold, silver, precious stones, wood, etc. On judgment day
what each person has built will be tested by fire. If he survives
he will receive a reward which is eternal life in heaven. If he
suffers a loss, he will be sent to purgatory where he will await
the reunion with God. Even in purgatory, God has not stopped
loving these imperfect souls, neither have we. Take advantage
of the season of prayer for the souls in purgatory and reflect
what was missing in their life. Did they build on service to God
and others? Did they give generously of their time, talent and
treasure? Without good deeds the life of faith is empty.
BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING
Several weeks ago we received a registered letter from the
Town of Webster informing us that the Board of Selectmen
voted to cease plowing and salting the Church and school parking lots for this winter. We regret this decision which negatively affects the community and especially endangers the children’s safety and creates tension between the community and
elected officials of the town. For years we had a good relationship with the town, mutually helping each other in various ways
and forms.
Therefore, we appeal the decision of the Board to restore services to our churches and schools by signing a petition as well
as attending the Selectmen’s meeting on Monday, Nov. 21st. At
7 pm. We kindly ask parishioners and parents of our school
children to join our effort.
THANKSGIVING DAY
The word Thanksgiving strikes a familiar chord in our hearts
and is a natural response to God in the spirit of gratitude for
many gifts. The greatest blessing is the gift of life, followed by
the gift of good health, natural resources, comfortable living,
etc. Many of these gifts we enjoy, but they should not be taken
for granted. The approaching Thanksgiving gives us the
opportunity to help others in gratitude for our own blessings.
There are two students at St. Joseph School whose families are
in en extreme financial hardship and might not be able to
complete their Catholic education without outside assistance.
They would be forever grateful for a helping hand. Another
student whose family had a tragic event also has difficulty in
paying tuition. The average tuition at St. Joseph School is
$3,400 pp. These students would appreciate if someone would
help with their education by paying half or the full tuition.
FALL DINNER DANCE
You are cordially invited to attend the Fall Dinner Dance sponsored by the Polish Saturday School of our parish. The event

przestał kochać tych niedoskonałych dusz i my również powinniśmy
