Strzegom, dn. 11-15.08.2010 r.
Ladies and Gentlemen!
Organizers of the International Festival of Folklore in Strzegom held under the auspices of CIOFF
cordially invite for the 19th edition, over which the honorary patronage took the Vice Marshal of Lower
Silesia Stanisław Longawa.
As in previous years, our Festival is supported by the Lower Silesia Marshal’s Office, District of
Świdnica and above all the Municipality of Strzegom.
This year’s XIXth edition will be held 11 – 15 August 2010. It will last for five days. On the main
stage of the Festival, in OsiR in Strzegom, there will be folk groups from: Jordan, Ukraine, Slovenia,
Mexico, Hungary, Korea, two groups from Italy. There will of course be groups from Poland: From
Kaszuby, Łowicz, Nowa Ruda and our local „Kostrzanie”.
The complement to the artistic presentations on the Market in Strzegom will be performances of
the local groups „Goczałkowianie”, „Olszaniacy” and „Retro” – there will be about 500 performers all
together.
Such a variety of offers during the festival is possible thanks to cooperation between two friendly
folk festivals in Strzegom and Nowa Ruda. This cooperation not only makes the programme so interesting
but once again recalls the traditions, customs and rituals, shows the roots, identity and cultural affiliation
and above all is beyond the boundaries and stereotypes. The International Festival of Folklore will be a
great opportunity to promote Strzegom and the region.
During the Festival there are going to be presentations on the main stage, concerts, games, „The
World Market 2010”, the National Evenings, Festival fire, the Holy Mass and concerts on the Lower
Silesia.
