1. To be sure, the RS-232 upgrade will succeed, loader version in the
receiver have to be 4.03 or newer
To check the loader version, please go to:
Menu System Information
Proper information should look like below:
Before upgrade start, please check wether the PC have properly working
RS-232 connection Port
2. Run HyperTerminal tool from Microsoft Windows XP Acessory menu
(if You use Newer operational system, its possibile You will have to
download this tool from the internet).
Receiver should be switched off or in StandBy mode untill getting to the
8th point of this procedure,
Hyperterminal tool default localization in Windows XP OS:
3. Before starting the upgrade, please choose new connection name (in the
Picture just example random name)
4. Next please choose proper communication port number, which RS-232 is
described by in Your PC (default value for the tool is COM 1)
5. Choose connection properties ( Have to be like in Picture below)
6. When the connection is configured, please choose the file You want to
send to the receiver (it can be channel list, software, etc…); Next choose
Transfer Send File… then chose the file You want to upgrade in
receiver
7. Choose: Zmodem (recovery), then Click Send button
8. Now turn the receiver on, The connection will be estabilished ,You will
be able to see the sending progress:
During the upgrade its possibile to see the information about the sending
process
on VFD Display:
from 0001 to 0100 – file sending progress
FUSE – flash memory erasing
WAIT – writing the information in flash memory
In the same time its possibile to see the more detailed information on TV
set connected to receiver:
CAUTION!!!!
Do not disconnnect the device from Power source during the file
sending, fusing and writing process via RS-232!!! It can cause
irreversible damage of flash memory!!!
Receiver will be rebooted, it means the file upgrade was succesfull
