State University), Australii (The University of New South Wales) i Argentynie (The National University of San Luis). Jest członkiem Rad Naukowych instytutów PAN i UW, ekspertem NCN, NCBiR i PKN oraz członkiem (Fellow) brytyjskiego Instytutu Matematyki i Jej Zastosowań. Jest członkiem komitetów redakcyjnych czasopism: International Journal of Data Mining, Modelling and Management (Senior Editor), Opuscula Mathematica, Machine Graphics & Vision. Title: Mathematical Models and Methods in Life Insurance Dates: 19-21.09.2012 Abstract: Outline by keywords: A review of classical survival models. Extension to life history analysis based on time-continuous Markov and semi-Markov models. Statistical inference. A more general framework of marked point processes and their associated counting processes and martingales. Application of the models to the analysis of death benefits, life annuities, health insurance, and more general life insurance products. Classical life insurance mathematics: the principle of equivalence, reserves, higher order moments, solvency requirements. Models for environmental risk due to uncertain development of market indices and demographic indices. Management of environmental risk: participating policy (or with-profit), index-linked contracts, securitization through mortality derivatives. Some firm opinions will be articulated, and discussions are welcome. Lecturer: Prof. Ragnar Norberg Ragnar Norberg is a Research Officer (Chercheur) at the University of Lyon 1 since 2011 and a Professor of Statistics at London School of Economics since 2000 (emeritus since 2010). Before this he was a Professor of Insurance Mathematics, first at the University of Oslo, then at the University of Copenhagen. In between he has been a Guest Professor at ETH Zuerich and the University of Melbourne, taught at the University of Strasbourg and the Free University of Brussels, and paid longer visits to a number of academic institutions including Moscow State University, Stanford University, and the University of the Aegean. His research addresses a broad range of topics in risk theory, insurance mathematics (life and non-life), credibility theory, financial mathematics, and related areas in statistics and probability. He is well known in the international scientific and professional communities as an organizer of meetings, an editor of academic journals, and a speaker in a long list of major conferences, academic departments, and learned societies around the world.
