area immigrants, Polish speaking residents, and those in need. We offer
a comprehensive range of services, providing a holistic approach to help
individuals achieve their full potential in all aspects of their lives. Since 1922,
our bilingual and culturally sensitive programs have helped four generations of
immigrants successfully transition to life in the United States by linking them
to vital resources, services, and information.

literacy; career counseling and job placement services; employment resource
center; and computer labs.
• Social Services: These include: Crisis intervention; individual and family
counseling; counseling and advocacy for victims of domestic violence;
women’s counseling services; partner abuse intervention program; substance
abuse treatment; substance abuse counseling and prevention education for
youth; homemakers program for seniors; food pantry; clothing closet; and
emergency energy assistance.
• Immigrant Services: These include: Assistance with the United States

The Polish American Association and many of its staff have received local, state,
federal, and international recognition for their commitment to and effectiveness
in meeting the most critical needs of the Polish community.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Polish American Association, a human services agency, is to
serve the diverse needs of the Polish community in the Chicago metro area by
providing resources for changing lives, with emphasis on assisting immigrants.
CORE VALUES
We believe that:
• Each client of the PAA is a unique individual with different
concerns and abilities and shall be treated with dignity.
• The PAA programs and services assist in the empowerment of
people as individuals so that they may reach their full potential in
all aspects of their lives.
• The PAA programs and services are most effective when a holistic
approach is taken to individual needs.
• The PAA makes every effort to respond to the unmet and well
researched needs within the Polish community by providing
programs and services not available elsewhere.
• The PAA advocates on behalf of those within the Polish community
who may not be able to speak for themselves.
• The PAA fosters linkages and collaborative efforts with other
human service agencies and also within the extended Polish
community.
