Czasownik „to be” zarówno w czasie present simple jak i past simple jest czasownikiem
samodzielnym, co oznacza, że nie potrzebuje on operatora do tworzenia pytań i przeczeń.
Pytania z czasownikiem „to be” tworzymy przez inwersję (zmianę szyku podmiotu i
orzeczenia), a przeczenia – dodając „not” do formy „was” lub „were”.
