Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin) Bac kground • The Warsa w U niversity of Li fe Sci en ces (W ULS) is the larges t (1 8 Facu lties, 1,25 2 researc hers, 24,74 3 stude nts), oldest and highest-ra ted agr icu ltura l acade mi c institution in Poland, t he for th oldes t in Eur ope . • The Fac ul ty of H orti cu ltu re and Landscape Arc hitec ture (FH& LA ) is: o among t he larges t Facu lties of the W ULS (12 De par tments, 117 researc hers, 1,563 s tude nts), o among t he highes t ra ted Facu lties of the W ULS - in Sep . 2010 awarded pres tigious 1 st ca teg ory in the national ra nking o f researc h institutions, o the m ost ac tive in researc h, with the highes t num ber of curre ntly ac tive researc h gra nts and contrac ts (in 2009 only - 7 inte rnational gra nts, 75 national gra nts and researc h c ontrac ts). • The challe nge – the Ma nage m ent and Staff of the FH&LA Facu lty follow de velopments per tinent to Pl an t Hea lth in E urope, and ar e cognisa nt o f the new challenges posed b y rece nt initiatives, suc h as: o Direc tive 2009/128/EC of the Eur opean Par liam en t and o f the Council, in par ticu lar the Ar ticle 14 concer ning t he Integra ted Pes t Ma nage m ent (IPM), o Re view of the Comm on P lant Hea lth Reg im e (20 09-2010) o The confere nce o n "M oder nising t he Comm on Plant Hea lth Reg im e in view of globalisation and clim ate change" (Feb. 2010 ), o Plant Hea lth rec omm enda tions o f the Eur opea n Food Sa fety A uthority, o FA O Gu ida nce o n Pes t and Pes ticide Ma nage m ent Policy De velopment (Ju ne 2010) w ith expa nded role given to promot ion of IPM. • The resp on se - to enh ance FH& LA capac ity to address these new challenges, its RTD pr iorities and o rga nisa tion were re -focused, and a researc h-age nda dr iven Wa rsaw Pl ant Health Cluste r (W PHC) was es tablished, gr oup ing researc h gr oups from all five Depar tm ents dea ling with the plant hea lth issues. The W PHC consists of 52 resea rche rs (52 e xper ienced and 10 junior) plus 40 PhD stude nts. • The P roject - based o n SW OT analy sis a nd t he resu lting Action Plan, the pr oposed Wa rsaw Pl an t Hea lth Initiativ e pr ojec t was de veloped to empower the W PHC to resp ond t o the Eur ope 2020 Stra teg y, in par ticu lar its “ Inn ovation Union” and t he “Youth on the M ove” initiatives , and to e nh ance W PHC collabora tive capac ity and visibili ty within the ERA and EHEA. Przed “deadline”) Project Leader został upoważniony przez zespół do: Przygotowania ostatecznej analizy SWOT Arbitralnej selekcji i konsolidacji wspólnie zebranego materiału, i napisania spójnej aplikacji (wniosku), przy minimalnych tylko konsultacjach z WP Leaders Negocjacje Przestrzegać terminów deadlines, Uzbroić się w cierpliwość ! Zdefiniować “flexibility rules and limits” Przygotowując projekt ……. Ważne relacje - opisane ‘explicite’ ! Cele projektu ZGODNE z ogólnymi celami projektów “capacities” oraz strategią rozwoju nauki we Wspólnocie Europejskiej Work Plan wynikający bezpośrednio ze słabości ujawnionych w analizie SWOT Proponowane środki “naprawcze” - działania zgodne z “eligible actions” dla REGPOT Ważne aspekty taktyczne Prezentując nasz potencjał “gramy TYLKO najmocniejszymi kartami” Udokumentowany dorobek i pozycja wybranych “lokomotyw” - najlepsze zespoły i osoby Ujawnione słabości - podstawa i uzasadnienie projektu - muszą być NAPRAWIALNE przy pomocy proponowanych działań Konieczny wiarygodny pomysł “co dalej” po zakończeniu grantu - wizja DALSZEGO funkcjonowania w Europejskiej Przestrzeni Badawczej Główne części aplikacji: (5 points) Scientific and/or technical quality, relevant to the topics addressed by the call “niekochane” przez badaczy cześci projektu (5 points !!)
