Swiatowej) widziany oczyma ostatniego zyjacego uczestnika projektu - Roya
Glaubera, wybitnego fizyka, laureata Nagrody Nobla. Film trwa okolo 50
minut. Po pokazie przewidziana jest dyskusja z rezyserem Maite Soto i
producentem filmu Jose Latorre.

Streszczenie:
W październiku 1941 r. Prezydent USA F.D. Roosevelt zatwierdził program
budowy bomby atomowej, zwany projektem Manhattan. Laureat Nagrody
Nobla Roy J. Glauber, wówczas osiemnastolatek, pracował w tym projekcie.
Jest on ostatnią żyjącą osobą z Zakładu Teorii w Los Alamos i ostatnim
naocznym świadkiem konstrukcji bomby. Na filmie Glauber opowiada o
codziennym życiu w Los Alamos, o relacjach pomiędzy sławnymi fizykami,
takimi jak Oppenheimer, Teller, Fermi, Bethe, Feynman, Ulam, którzy
pracowali w projekcie, jak również o ich odczuciach po pierwszym teście
bomby. Następnie Glauber mówi o następstwach politycznych budowy i użycia
bomby, włączając w to kwestię przesłuchań Oppenheimera. Na filmie relacja
Glaubera jest przeplatana niedawno odtajnionymi oryginalnymi zdjęciami i
nagraniami ze zbiorów z Los Alamos. Przedstawiony film dokumentalny

In October 1941, President Roosevelt approved a crash program-known as the
Manhattan project- to develop an atomic bomb. Nobel laureate Roy J. Glauber
was only 18 when he joined the project. He is the last living person from the
Theory Division at Los Alamos and the last person to tell first hand his insight
of how the bomb was
constructed. Glauber's perfect narration covers the daily life at Los Alamos, the
relation among the famous scientists (Oppenheimer, Teller, Fermi, Bethe,
Feynman, Ulam....) that worked in the project and the feelings
that came to them on the day of the Trinity first test. He further goes into the
political aftermath, including the hearings against Oppenheimer. Glauber's
account is only punctuated by original videos recently declassified at the Los
Alamos Archive. The documentary 'That's the story' brings, in some sense, the
last true voice telling
the story of how the first atomic bomb was made.
