ARMENIA – RAJ DLA GEOTURYSTÓW
Armenia to kraj Ormian, wywodzących się od Hajka, prawnuka Noego, którego to
arka osiadła na górze Ararat – wygasłego już wulkanu, symbolu Armenii, leżącego
obecnie na terytorium Turcji. Armenia bogata jest w przeróżne ciekawe – nie tylko
pod względem geologicznym i geoturystycznym – miejsca, np.: wąwóz rzeki Azat
koło Garni z niesamowitymi słupami bazaltowymi, przypominającymi organy
kościelne, droga do monastyru w Tatev, gdzie zobaczyć można Diabelski Most –
określany mianem „cudu”, stolicę kraju - Erewań, a w nim kolejny symbol narodowy
– kaskady zbudowane z białego porfiru; budynki, domy, a nawet doniczki wykonane
ze skał wulkanicznych. Poznać można fantastyczną, odmienną od naszej kulturę,
zasmakować tradycyjnych potraw ormiańskich. Miejscem godnym uwagi jest jedno
z największych i najwyżej usytuowanych jezior – Sevan, znajdujące się na północ od
Erewania. W miasteczku Sevan, na wzgórzu, położony jest monastyr, skąd
rozkoszować się można zapierającym dech w piersiach widokiem na całe jezioro…
ARMENIA – THE PARADISE FOR GEOTOURISTS
Armenia – the homeland of Armenians, the descendants of Haik - a great grandson
of Noah. His ark has landed atop the Mount Ararat – the symbol of Armenia, which is
an inactive volcano, now in the territory of Turkey. Armenia is unique because of
a number of sites, amazing not only from geotouristic and geological points of view.
These are: the Azat River Gorge near Garni with eye-popping columnar joint of
basalts, which remind organs, the road to the Tatev monastery where one can see the
Devil’s Bridge - “the nature miracle”. In the capital city of Yerevan the tourist can
admire another Armenian’s symbol – cascades made from white phorphyry.
Buildings, houses and even flower pots are made of volcanic rocks. He can also taste
traditional Armenian cuisine. A site which cannot be omitted is the Sevan Lake, one of
the largest high-altitude lakes in the world, located north from Yerevan. In the
beautiful, small Sevan town the visitor can experience a breath-taking view of the lake
from the top of the hill where an old monastery is located… the view is unbelievable.
