March 6th is the World Day of Prayer
The World Day of Prayer is observed annually on the
first Friday in March. It is an invitation for Christians
to pause and pray together ecumenically. It recalls our
Christian responsibility to be sensitive to the signs of
the times so that we might bring a more authentically
Christian dimension to the concerns of our world, our
country, our community. Sponsored by the Women’s
Inter-Church Council of Canada and its national
counterparts around the world, it is celebrated in
approximately 165 countries.
Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday,
March 8th at 2:00 a.m. – turn your clocks
ahead one hour.
All Masses will be celebrated at the new time.
Parishioners, who wish, can make a donation for
sanctuary Easter flowers in memory of deceased
loved ones. Mass for them will be celebrated on Easter
Sunday, April 5th, at 10:00 am in English and 11:30 am
in Polish.

Parenting Tip of the Month
Lent is a time for us to focus on important practices of
our faith: prayer, fasting and almsgiving. During Lent
help your children see that prayer is both formal and
informal and that God wants to hear from us in many
ways; teach them that we can fast from a favourite
food or drink, but also from a bad habit or mean
spirited action; remind them that almsgiving provides
support for those in need and can take the form of
money, goods, or time and talent. Lent is about
focussing in on how we can be better people and so it
is a great teaching tool to help your children grow.

Marriage Tip of the Month
In marriage we can sometimes focus on the habits of
our spouse that annoy us, rather than looking inward at
ourselves and asking how we might be a better partner
to the one we love. Ask yourself what one thing you
can do today to be a better spouse and then do it;
choose a new item to focus on each week. As we
change how we connect with our spouse, their
response to us will also change and suddenly, life is
better. Adopt a new way of acting toward your spouse
and watch your marriage thrive!

Mass with the Anointing of the Sick
On Saturday, March 14th, at 10:00 A.M., we will
celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
Those who suffer from chronic illness, those preparing
for surgery and the elderly, who find the daily tasks of
life particularly burdensome, are invited to come
forward to receive the gift of prayer through the laying
on of hands and anointing. Our Presider and Homilist
will be Fr. Zbigniew Skóra, CR from Poland. Prayers
in English will also be included. Those parishioners
who are confined to home or residents in one of the
health care facilities will be visited before Easter and
offered the sacrament at that time.

Magnificat Ministries
present “Behold His Glory”
Magnificat Ministries is a Catholic lay apostolate
which has been actively engaged in the New
Evangelization since 1993. The apostolate was
founded by Linda and Marcel Dion and built upon the
spiritual foundation of a primary vocation to marriage
and the call they have discerned to live the hidden life
of Nazareth; characterized by personal contemplative
prayer, silence, solitude and manual labor. Building
upon the grace of the New Evangelization and drawing
from the pastoral wisdom of Saint John Paul II and the
grace of the Great Jubilee, Magnificat Ministries now
also offers formation in the Ancient Discipleship;
namely, teaching on prayer (both personal and
liturgical) and the interior life as taught by the mystical
Doctors of the Church, the Catechism of the Catholic
Church, documents of Vatican II and Sacred Scripture.
Behold His Glory evening offers an opportunity to
gather the faithful in the Lord’s Real presence and –
like Mary of Bethany – to sit at the Lord’s feet, gazing
upon and adoring His humble beauty in praise,
adoration, supplication and repentance. Behold His
Glory – adoration of our Eucharistic Lord, through
music and song at St. Joseph’s Church – Saturday,
March 21st beginning at 7:14 pm. All are invited and

Stop Graphic Revisions to Ontario's Sex Education
Curriculum
Ontario kids as young as six will learn about consent
while eight-year-olds will be taught about same-sex
relationships under a revamped sex-education
curriculum the Premier of Ontario released on
February 23, 2015. Grade 1 students will learn how to
understand non-verbal signals like facial expressions
and tone of voice, as well as the proper names for body
parts, which was already in the old curriculum. By
Grade 3, students will learn about same-sex
relationships, which Kathleen Wynne, the first openly
gay premier, said would help kids with two moms or
two dads feel their families are just like everyone
else’s. Students in Grade 6 will be taught about
masturbation and “gender expression,” while kids in
Grades 7 and 8 will discuss contraception, anal and
oral sex, preventing pregnancy and sexually
transmitted infections. The Liberal government backed
away from an attempted update of the sex ed
curriculum in 2010 after protests by some religious
leaders, including Charles McVety, president of
Canada Christian College. As Catholic parents, we
have the right and moral obligation to be the primary
educators of our children in matters such as sex

Zaprotestujmy przeciwko zmianom w programie
edukacji seksualnej dzieci
Premier Ontario Kathleen Wynne przygotowuje się do
ponownego wprowadzenia zmian do programu
edukacji seksualnej dzieci we wrześniu 2015 roku.
Zmiany te, w atmosferze kontrowersji, chciała ona
wprowadzić już w 2010 roku, gdy była ministrem
edukacji w rządzie premiera Daltona McGuinty’ego.
Wówczas rodzice sprzeciwili się projektowi
wprowadzania brutalnej i technicznej edukacji
seksualnej w tak młodym wieku. Ówczesny premier
wycofał sie z projektu, ale obecnie Kathleen Wynne
powraca do niego. Najkrócej rzecz ujmując dzieci mają
być uczone “nowoczesnego” podejścia do spraw seksu
i płci, związków homoseksualnych, wychowania dzieci
przez pary tej samej płci. W starszych klasach szkoły
podstawowej uczniowie mają też poznawać techniki
masturbacji i współżycia seksualnego, w tym tak
wyuzdaną jego formę jak stosunki analne. Od 1
września obowiązujący program nauczania w
kanadyjskich szkołach podstawowych ma obejmować:
1. w klasie pierwszej – naukę o naukowych
określeniach genitaliów
2. w klasie trzeciej – temat rodziny tej samej płci i
zagadnienia tożsamości płciowej (ideologia gender)
3. w klasie szóstej – naukę o masturbacji
4. w klasie siódmej – techniki współżycia płciowego z
uwzględnieniem stosunków oralnych i analnych. Wielu
rodziców jest oburzona reformami programu
szkolnego wprowadzanymi przez partię Liberałów.
Organizacja PAFE (Parents As First Educators –
Rodzice Jako Pierwsi Wychowawcy) wystąpiła z
inicjatywą wysłania petycji pod tytułem “Stop Graphic
Revisions to Ontario’s Sex Education Curriculum”
mającej na celu przeciwstawienie się planowanej
reformie nauczania. Jako rodzice i katolicy mamy
moralny obowiązek popierania takich inicjatyw.
