Fifth Sunday of Easter
Todayǯs first reading left my head
spinning. In that short passage, I counted eight
places that Paul and Barnabas had visited. In
each town or city they strengthened the disciples
by telling them DzIt is necessary for us to undergo
many hardships to enter the kingdom of Goddz.
This reading also made me consider how
different life was for the people of the first
century. Paul and Barnabas could not pack their
belongings into their SUV, fill up their tank and
take off for the next stop. They were certainly on
fire for Christ and his Church!
In the second reading from the book of
Revelation, John describes his vision of the DzNew
Jerusalemdz. DzGod will wipe every tear from their
eyes, and there shall be no more death or
mourning, wailing or paindz.
This is the
Christianǯs answer to St. Paulǯs message of Dzmany
hardshipsdz.
In the Gospel passage, Jesus is preparing
his disciples for his departure, and gives them
his new commandment of love. DzAs I have loved
you, so you also should love one another.dz
According to ‡•—•ǯ norm, would the world
recognize us as his disciples?
DzThis is how the world will know that you are
my disciples, if you love one anotherdz.

school year will be held at the Religious
Education Center between Tuesday, April 5 and
Wednesday, April 27, according to the following
schedule:

Registering for the First Time:
You must bring the following documentation:
-Birth Certificate
-Baptismal Certificate (even if the child was baptized in this
parish)
-First Communion Certificate (If the child has already
received First Communion)
-One of your weekly church donation envelopes
verifying your “Church” Registration number
(Families wishing to have their children attend
our program should be registered in our Parish
or any other Parish of this Diocese)
Tuition must be paid at the time of registration.
The tuition fee for the 2016-2017 school year
will be the same as last year.

off our annual feast during our 87th Anniversary of our Parish. This meeting is
for all group leaders and anyone interested in volunteering their time and talents. We also need volunteers to help stuff

Jesus loves the little children...and certainly would
not want any of them to be harmed or injured.
Therefore we are asking all parents of small children
not to allow the children to be running or otherwise
alone in the aisles, in the area in front of or behind
the congregation, or any of the steps in the Church
or auditorium
All children should be at their parent’s side at all
times. Even those too young to understand what is
going on, should sense from your attitude that something very special (sacred) is happening.

The K of C -OLA Council is holding an "OPEN HOUSE" event on Sunday, May 1st, in the lower
church hall at 3PM. This is a good opportunity for the men of our parish to learn more about
our great Catholic Fraternal/Family Service Organization. Since the Order's founding in 1882
by Fr. Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus has grown into the largest Catholic Fraternal
Organization in America. St. John-Paul 2nd. has proclaimed our Order as the 'right arm of the
Church" We stand in solidarity with our Church and priests. Our goal is to make GOOD men of
our parish even BETTER men. Come join us for friendly talk and light refreshments.
BLOOD DRIVE
Our Lady of the Assumption is once again having
their annual Blood Drive. Please come and support this much needed drive on Tuesday, May 17th
from 2:30pm to 8:30pm. Our goal is 80 pints.

MAJOWE UKORONOWANIE
W następną niedzielę 1 maja przypada Niedziela Ołtarza Różańcowego. Zachęcamy
wszystkich do przyłączenia się do naszych
członków po Mszy św. o godz. 10:30 rano.
Przejdziemy wówczas wspólnie w procesji do
naszego Sanktuarium, aby włożyć koronę na
głowę Błogosławionej Matki. Oddajmy cześć
naszej Patronce Matce Bożej Wniebowziętej za
błogosławieństwa i łaski, którymi nas obdarza.
Bezpośrednio po zakończeniu ceremonii zapraszamy wszystkich na poczęstunek do sali pod
kościołem.
TROSKA O BEZPIECZEŃSTWO
Pan Jezus kocha małe dzieci i z pewnością nie chciałby, aby stała się im jakakolwiek krzywda, aby się nie
uderzyły i nie doznały obrażeń. W związku z tym prosimy wszystkich rodziców mających małe dzieci, aby nie
pozwalali im biegać lub przebywać bez opieki w przejściach, przed ołtarzem, na schodach kościoła lub audytorium. Wszystkie dzieci powinny przez cały czas
znajdować się pod opieką rodziców. Nawet te najmłodsze, nierozumiejące jeszcze tego, co się wokół nich
dzieje, powinny dzięki postawie rodziców wyczuwać
powagę Mszy św. Dzękujemy Państwu za zrozumienie
i współpracę.

PARAFIALNYM / NAPEŁNIANIE KOPERT
We wtorek 3 maja, o godz. 19:00 w sali pod kościołem
odbędzie się ważne spotkanie organizacyjne związane
z naszym dorocznym Festynem Parafialnym. Jest to
spotkanie dla liderów wszystkich grup oraz wszystkich
tych, którzy chcieliby pomagać nam jako wolontariusze. Potrzebujemy także wolontariuszy do napełniania kopert podczas spotkania. Serdecznie zapraszamy wszystkich do przybycia.
PODZIĘKOWANIE
Centrum Życia na Long Island serdecznie dziękuje
naszej parafii udział w Zbiórce Funduszy na Butelkę dla Niemowlaka. Dzięki Waszej hojności zgromadziliśmy kwotę $7,127.

Zapisy uczniów nowych oraz uczniów kontynuujących
naukę w naszym programie będą odbywać się w budynku
Centrum Edukacji Religijnej do środy 27 kwietnia według
następującego rozkładu:
-w poniedziałek, godz: 10:00-13:00,
-we wtorek, godz: 10:00-13:00, 14:00-16:00,
-w środę, godz: 10:00-13:00, 14:00-16:00, 19:00-20:00.
W przypadku zapisów uczniów nowych (zapisywanych po raz pierwszy): Rodzice uczniów MUSZĄ przynieść ze sobą Metrykę Chrztu Dziecka oraz jego Akt
Urodzenia. Jeżeli dziecko przyjęło już sakrament Eucharystii (Pierwsza Komunia Św.), to wówczas prosimy o
przyniesienie zaświadczenia potwierdzajacego przyjęcie
tego sakramentu.
Wszystkie powyższe wymagania muszą być
spełnione nawet jeżeli dziecko otrzymało sakramenty w naszej parafii. Nie dotyczą one uczniów
zapisywanych ponownie (kontynuujących naukę w
naszym programie).
Należy także przynieść jedną z kopert używanych do
składki z wydrukowaną nazwą parafii oraz z Państwa
nazwiskiem, adresem oraz numerem ewidencyjnym.
(Rodziny, które chciałyby, aby ich dzieci uczęszczały na
katechezę w naszym programie powinny być zarejestrowane w naszej parafii lub w innej parafii naszej Diecezji.)
Opłaty za naukę należy uiścić podczas dokonywania
zapisów. Będą one takie same jak w roku ubiegłym.
Wysokość opłat:
- za jedno dziecko: $ 120
- za dwoje lub wiecej dzieci: $ 150
- Pierwsza Komunia Święta (klasa II) : $50
(tj. opłata za fotografa i materiały
przygotowawcze)
- Bierzmowanie (klasa VIII i Prep 6): $85
(opłata za materiały, rekolekcje,
strój na uroczystość)
Opłatę należy uiścić płacąc czekiem lub przekazem
pieniężnym (money order).
Nie będzie zwrotów opłat.
Rodziny znajdujące się w trudnej sytuacji finansowej mogą
uiszczać opłaty w miesięcznych ratach.
Jeżeli zapisują Państwo swoje dzieci na katechezę po
raz pierwszy, to prosimy o wcześniejsze skontaktowanie
się z Cristiną w biurze Centrum Edukacji Religijnej - tel. (631)
842-3545 (w języku angielskim). Udzieli ona dodatkowych
informacji.
Rozkład lekcji katechezy na rok szkolny 2016-17
