The European Commission Representation in Poland together with the Institute for Structural Research would like to invite you
to the conference “Population ageing, labour market and public finance in Poland”, which will take place on March 9th 2017
in Novotel Centrum Hotel in Warsaw.
We will start with the presentation of the “Country Report – Poland 2017” prepared by the European Commission.
The conference will be the opportunity to present latest analyses on effects of ageing of Polish population in two crucial areas:
labour market as well as public finance and pension system. The latest forecasts till year 2050 will show the impact
of demographic changes on labour supply, employment, jobless rate, demand for foreigners’ jobs and country’s GDP. The results
will be presented by: P. Lewandowski (IBS), A. Chłoń-Domińczak (SGH) and J. Tyrowicz (UW, NBP).
The discussion will include the assessment of most important anti-ageing policies, including changes in retirement age,
labour market participation of women and aged 50+ as well as changes in the indexation of pensions. Speakers include:
Secretary of State - Stanisław Szwed (Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy), representatives of the European Commission Istvan Szekely (DG ECFIN), Wojciech Paczyński (DG ECFIN) and Wallis Goelen (DG EMPL); and also: Joanna Stachura (MF), Nicola
Brandt (OECD), Janusz Jabłonowski (NBP), Irena Kotowska (SGH), Paweł Wojciechowski (ZUS) and representatives of employers’
associations and trade unions’ associations.
