LECH PILS BECOMES MAIN SPONSOR OF KKS LECH POZNAŃ
Lech Pils steps up its involvement and collaboration with the Lech football team. On July 11,
2014, the brand signed a 3-year contract with Poland’s vice-champion KKS Lech Poznań
whereby Lech Pils becomes the main sponsor of the team. Under the agreement, the main
sponsor’s logo will appear on the back of the footballers’ T-shirts, right under the player’s
number.
The sponsorship contract signed between KKS Lech Poznań and Lech Pils will be effective for three
years until 30 July 2017. Under the agreement, the brand will be represented in a visible place on the
back of each player’s shirt in all matches of the Major League EKSTRAKLASA, Poland’s Cup and
European Cups.
"We are pleased with the collaboration with Lech Poznań so far. We did our best and went beyond the
boundaries of sponsorship by running a number of activities for the people of Wielkopolska, and for
the fans of the Poznan Football Club in particular,” says Robert Wesoły, West Region’s Sales
Director in Kompania Piwowarska. "Both Lech Pils and Lech Poznań have become symbols of this
region and expansion of our collaboration has been a natural step. Over the past two years of our
working together, the football team won Poland’s vice-championship twice. We believe that with our
involvement the team will be able to achieve even more both at home and in Europe” he adds.
"When we announced our collaboration two years ago, we spoke about writing a new chapter of our
relationship. We were Poland’s vice-champions for two subsequent seasons then, and now we are
climbing one level up and it’s time to reach the throne again and we are going to fight for it. The Lech
Pils brand will now be visible on our T-shirts starting from this season – the logo will be placed under
the number of each adult player. I am delighted that Lech Poznań and Lech Pils, two very
recognizable tokens of Wielkopolska will stay together in their fight for the highest goals,” says Karol
Klimczak, Chairman of KKS Lech Poznań.
The rules of selling alcohol at the stadium during matches played by Lech Poznań will remain
unchanged. Kompania Piwowarska will sell those of its beer brands which meet the requirements set
out in the sobriety act. These will include Lech Ice Shandy, Lech Free (non-alcoholic beer) and Tyskie
Jasne Lekkie 3.5%.
Among initiatives taken by the brand during its collaboration with the team so far, there were several
projects run together with the fans and the club itself. Lech Pils was represented during events that are
important for the local community, such as anniversary celebrations of the outbreak of the Great
Poland Uprising, or at Piotr Reiss Benefit. The brand has sponsored fans’ tournaments in Ustronie
Morskie and Błażejewko. In addition, over 600 fans met with the Club’s legendary footballers, Jarosław
Araszkiewicz, Arkadiusz Bąk and Waldemar Krygier, at the Lech Brewery in Poznań. Over 4,000
tickets to the most attractive matches played by KKS Lech Poznań were distributed in consumer
competitions over the past two years of collaboration. The fans who took part in the game called
"Heaps of fun in Pils skybox” could watch the team’s matches from a special Lech Pils club in the
crown of the stadium.
