2nd International Conference Mechatronic Systems and Materials 31 August – 3 September 2006 Cracow, POLAND THE SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT AIM AND SCOPE The 2nd International Conference Mechatronic Systems and Materials (MSM 2006) is organized by Department of Mechanics and Machine Design from Centre of Structural Integrity (CESTI), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Opole University of Technology, Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Kaunas University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, Cracow. The Conference is supported by European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS) and Excellence Network of Production Processes (ProNet). The aim of the conference is to provide opportunity to share the information, facilitate cooperation as well as, to disseminate recent research results in the field of mechatronics and new materials. The official language of the conference will be English. Education: • New trends in mechatronic and material science education; • New curricula concerning mechatronic systems and material science (both MSc and BSc degrees); • Teaching materials and laboratory facilities THE CONFERENCE PLACE MSM 2006 will take place in Cracow (Kraków in Polish) – one of the oldest and biggest cities located in the south of Poland. The historical center of Cracow is included into the UNESCO World Heritage List and there are many historical objects. The participants of MSM 2006 will have a possibility to visit the St. Waclaw and St. Stanislaw Cathedral on the Wawel Hill, the old residence of Polish kings, the Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s church and many other old churches, the old city walls with Barbican, museums, works of art by Polish and foreign painters, the oldest Polish university and many other interesting places. After the conference the full papers will be published in the special issues of international journals (some of them covered by Science Citation Index) or in the Scientific Papers of the Opole University of Technology. If the paper is not accepted by the Scientific Committee and its author abandons his participation in the Conference for this reason, the paid money will be sent back. In any other cases of resignation, a handling charge 50 € will be deducted. After 15th August, 2006 the fee will not be repaid. For payment in Polish currency, use relation 1€ = 4.0468 PLN.
