SPOTLIGHT AWARD!

On Saturday, February 1st, the annual American Society of Cinematographers Award
Ceremony was held.
During the ceremony, the Spotlight Award was presented as the first one. It has been bestowed
on Łukasz Żal and Ryszard Lenczewski for cinematography on Ida; the film was presented in
the Main Competition at the last Camerimage Festival and was awarded with the Golden Frog.
While accepting the ASC Spotlight Award, Łukasz Żal received a huge round of applause and
expressed his gratitude to cinematographer Ryszard Lenczewski and director Paweł
Pawlikowski, as well as to Camerimage Film Festival.

Earlier this week Ida was screened in Hollywood during Camerimage Winners Show,
organized together with American Society of Cinematographers, American Film Institute and
Polish Film Institute.
The award for Outstanding Achievement in the theatrical motion picture category went to
Emmanuel Lubezki for cinematography on Gravity, the winner of Camerimage 2013 3D Films
Competition.
