2ND EDITION OF THE A2 TO CARRIER GRANT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED!
Autostrada Wielkopolska SA has started the second edition of the A2 TO CARRER programme involving 5-months grants for 3 students of the University of Economic in
Poznań. The grant amounts to PLN 1200 monthly.
The project was inaugurated by a press briefing attended by:
dr hab. Cezary Kochalski, prof. UEP, Vice-Chancellor for Strategy and Development of UEP,
Robert Nowak, Vice-President of the Management Board of AWSA,
prof. dr hab. Elżbieta Gołembska – project tutor for professional issues
Lidia Szyfter – expert representing AWSA
the three distinguished students
The briefing was held on 11 March in Collegium Altum of the University of Economics in Poznań. In the presence of journalists, the students made the first entry to the grant blog (available
at: http://www.a2dokariery.autostrada-a2.pl). The blog is a unique platform for exchanging information concerning the motorways in Poland and in Europe, open to anyone to comment the
results of the work of the grant beneficiaries, and participate in the discussion. The blog structure will allow for adding comments using Facebook social portal. Making the research results
public will also allow for active participation of interested internauts in the research project.
„The formula of the second edition of A2 TO CARRER differs from the first one, and results from joint work of the experts of Autostrada Wielkopolska SA and the University of Economics in
Poznań. We wanted to create a slightly surprising, innovative project on a high professional level, and an interesting challenge for students and internauts. In the 2nd edition of the
programme we focused on popularising the knowledge using the blog, since according to the research results, 2/3 of the Polish internauts declare to read blogs sometimes, and 30% do it at
least once a week; what is more, the authors of the blogsphere enjoy the confidence level similar to that of the journalist”. – informed Zofia Kwiatkowska, AWSA Spokesperson.
The grant beneficiaries were selected in a competition. Grants were awarded to the students who in the opinion of the commission prepared the best short film materials concerning the
competitive edge of the motorway transport using the example of A2 Świecko – Nowy Tomyśl (255 km). The evaluation was based above all on content-related issues and creativity.
„The students of the International Logistics in the International Economy Department, including the members of the AELOGIK Students’ Scientific Club, participated in the interesting
competition organised in the scope of the A2 TO CARRER project. The students prepared 29 films of which the jury selected the best 3. The competition became popular and I believe it has
enabled an extremely creative approach of the students to the issue of competitiveness in transport. – informed prof. Elżbieta Gołembska of the UEP International Logistics Department.
The competition commission awarded the following students
- Anna Wanat, student of the 2nd year of the International Economic Relations, the competition film: http://tiny.pl/qp52k
- Piotr Becela, student of the 5th year of V International Economic Relations, specialized in International Logistics, the competition film: http://tiny.pl/qp522
- Rafał Kuźniarek, student of the 3rd year of III roku, International Economic Relations, specialized in International Logistics, competition film: http://tiny.pl/qp52s
In the period from March to July the three selected students will do research on the principles of motorway operation in Poland and Europe. Their work will be supervised by the project
professional tutors: prof. Elżbiety Gołembska of the UEP International Logistics Department, a renowned and esteemed expert, the author and co-author of over 250 research works in the
field of logistics, and Lidia Szyfter, the project technical director representing AWSA.
„A2 TO CARRER is the reply to the challenges facing the higher education system in Poland, a departure from purely theoretical lectures and programmes marginalising practical work. The
project was inspired by the best American business schools, including the Harvard University, where the study programmes are structured based on the so-called cases” – comments Zofia
Kwiatkowska, AWSA Spokesperson.
