The E|C Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new works on
paper by polish artist Justyna Adamczyk Form of Fear. Her new works will
be on display at the Gallery from December 12th through February, 2015.
Opening: December 12th, 6–8 pm

Justyna Adamczyk, a young Polish artist, in her newest project called Form of
Fear decided to tackle a brand new medium for her – drawing. A large series of
artworks wil be presented in the E/C Gallery exhibition space. It constitutes a
draft of stories about people – their private dilemmas and mental condition. But
also it tells a story about who we are, our consciousness, making decisions,
coexistence with another human being and passing in time.
As an artist Justyna attentively observes every day life and she tries to transform
it into her own visual language. She uses distinctive forms, symbols and shapes
to smuggle a handful of personal, sometimes dark thoughts and feelings. It won’t
be a cheerful story then…
!
The exhibition will present the newest series of artworks that touch emotional and
intimate sphere more than ever. The artist shows us her own attentively observed
world sometimes full of fear and anxiety, through her personal visual language.
This world appears as a grim, glumly space, full of hallucinatory shapes and
objects, and finally – full of ourselves – lost, lonely, frightened and more and more
often anonymous…

Justyna Adamczyk (b. 1981 Opoczno) received MFA from the E. Gepperd’s
Academy of Fine Arts in Poland, Wroclaw, painting specialization (under
supervision of prof. P. Błażejewski and lect. P. Pintala), in 2007. In 2006-2007 she
was a board member of ArtTransparent Foundation organizing „Survival” Young
Art Review. She received an award of Ministry of Culture and Heritage (twice, in
2005 and 2006). In 2007 she was given a distinction from the Public Art Gallery in
Łódź as part of The 17th Young Artists Contest "Promocje" in Legnica.
Since 2005 she participates in many exhibitions and contests in Poland and
abroad. Her works were exhibited on Vienna Art Fair (2011 Vienna) or on
contemporary auctions sales „Najlepsze kasztany są na Placu Pigalle” (2010,
Heppen, Transfer Gallery, Warsaw) as well as in such galleries like: Bestregards
Galery (Frankfurt), EC Gallery (Chicago), Galeria Miejska (Łódź), ON Galery
(Poznań), BWA (Bielsko Biała and Wroclaw) or Wozownia Gallery (Toruń).
Her works were distinguished as part of contests such as: Biennale, Bielska
Jesień (2013, Public Galery, Bielsko Biała), 9th Geppert’s Contest (2009, BWA
Awangarda Wrocław), Biennale „Bielska Jesień” (2009, Public Gallery, Bielsko
Biała), „Promocje” 17th Young Artists Contest (2007 Legnica). !
