If someone who had not been to Malbork for a long time came today to this picturesque town that
was once a stronghold of the Teutonic knights, they would certainly be enchanted by the numerous
new attractions and would find the view of the beautiful city centre, with its statue of King Kazimierz
Jagiellończyk standing in the middle of the square, unforgettable. The colourful fountain, its waters
playing this way and that to the rhythm of the music, the surrounding small architectural features and
the numerous small cafes and restaurants combine to generate the fabulous atmosphere of Malbork,
which was until recently noted only for its castle, which is the largest in Europe. It is worth stopping and
taking a look even if only to confirm that ‘One day is not enough’ is more than just a marketing slogan.

At Malbork Castle Museum visitors can see permanent exhibitions, including
reach collections of amber objects presented in modern arrangement at
the exhibition titled: “Amber backgrounds”, exhibition of military, porcelain,
furniture, numismatists, architectural detail, painting, hangings and military
items and Gothic sculptures, as well as several temporary exhibitions.
Every year the Museum organises many cultural events, openings, concerts of classical and modern
music, markets etc. The Malbork Siege, Museum Night, The Tastiest Pomeranian Advent Fair, limited
number of vouchers, and that’s only few of attractions offered by the Museum.
The Museum also conducts educational activities, teaching children through fun activities, and older
pupils through active lessons , prepares competitions, project and trainings for teachers. An interesting,
unconventional and original way of learning about the castle and its history is through historical games,
combined with drama and film workshops or knights’ tournaments. In the summer season visitors can
see the “Light and Sound” performance. In autumn, winter and spring evenings one can discover new
charms of the castle, taking a guided tour by night and admiring the castle In its night-time illuminations.

The square serves as a venue for numerous exhibitions, processions, fairs and
street theatre shows, which make visitors’ stay in the town more attractive.
The main attraction here
is undoubtedly the town

in time to specially chosen
music. Daily shows, particularly
those in the evening, made more
spectacular by light effects, draw
hundreds of interested spectators

MONUMENT OF KING JAGIELLOŃCZYK/ MALBORK COINS
19
Monument of King Jagiellończyk
In October 2010 a bronze
monument to King Casimir
Jagiellon (Kazimierz Jagiellończyk)
was erected on the promenade
in Malbork.
The monument to the Polish
king, whose triumphant entry
to Malbork in 1457 began the
‘Polish time’ which lasted 315 years,
is intended to remind everyone
of the Polish history of our
town. The monument is 348 cm
tall and made entirely of bronze.
Malbork Coins
Recently, new elements of small-scale
architecture have appeared in Malbork
– three aluminium coins mounted on specially
prepared stones. The presentation of coins
commemorates the fact that from the 15th
century there was a mint operating in Malbork
five times, which twice issued crusader coins,
twice Polish and once Lithuanian. The coins
are single-sided, showing the obverse and
reverse of a Konrad von Jungingen shilling
and the obverse of a Stefan Batory shilling.

of the town such as Malbork Castle, the
town’s mediaeval buildings, the dancing

The train serves both individual passengers
and organized groups, and is fully adapted

attracts both tourists and residents
of the town. This is one of the
features characterising of the modern
pedestrian precinct. It lets you see
close-up how the Teutonic castle
looked before the damage it suffered
during the Second World War.

residents and tourists to join in the fun.

style with modern sports facilities. Over an area
of 700m2 we have created a professional training

including global makes such as Star Trac® and Fitness
Authority®. We have divided the area of the club into

and holistically plan and carry out a diet, training
sessions and regenerative treatments.
The Atlantis fitness club in Malbork was created mainly

atmosphere, professionalism and moments of respite
from the everyday hustle and bustle.

fruit in the form of a sense of wellbeing, shapely figure
