Stanislaw (Stan) Czarnecki. I was born in 1967 in Stalowa Wola, Poland. After finishing High School I joined the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1986. I studied Philosophy in Krakow for three years. Besides my philosophy studies I was involved in the pastoral ministry working with young people members of the movement “Light and Life”. In 1991-1993 I went to Palermo, Italy, where I worked at a high school as a teacher of religious education and I also participated in activities of Christian Life Communities. Along with the members of CLC we organized a fruitful program for the poor children “of the street” of Palermo. After that, I came back to Poland to study Theology in Warsaw. During my theological studies I volunteered as a Prison Chaplain’s Assistant in a Warsaw prison. After I graduated from my theological studies, I left for three-years for special studies in pastoral theology at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome. I was ordained a Priest in 1997. After my studies I went back to Krakow, Poland, where I was working in a house of formation with scholastics in philosophy for two years. In 2001 I came to Chicago to work at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. My pastoral ministry was dedicated to different groups. Among others, I was the chaplain of the Polish Scouting Organization in Chicago and a spiritual assistant to the families belonging to the Catholic movement “Domestic Church”. I founded a group for young adults that later initiated Christian Life Communities in Chicago. I started a Bible Study Group. After four years of my ministry in Chicago I went to Boston to begin my Tertianship. It was one year dedicated to study, to make a 30-day Retreat and to have a very challenging experiment among Sioux Indians on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. After my Tertianship I became the Superior of the Polish Jesuit community in Chicago, the Rector of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Director of Jesuit Millennium Center. After seven years of my assignment I went for my sabbatical time. I spent one semester in Berkeley, California, where I participated in The New Direction Sabbatical Program. And here I am now at St. William Parish with a desire to continue my pastoral ministry in the Archdiocese of Chicago ad maiorem Dei gloriam. Po rocznej probacji wróciłem do Chicago, gdzie objąłem obowiązki przełożonego polskich jezuitów, rektora Sanktuarium Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa i dyrektora Jezuickiego Ośrodka Milenijnego. I oto teraz rozpoczynam moją nową posługę w Parafii św. Williama z pragnieniem służenia Panu Bogu i ludziom w tej parafii ad maiorem Dei gloriam. St. William Page Five 8th GRADE RUMMAGE SALE—TODAY VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE: PLEASE READ! St. William School is conducting an exciting sweepstakes based on professional football. FootballMania begins September 4, 2014 and runs for the 17 weeks of the professional football season. Buy your tickets now, before the first activation week! Don’t miss out! From now until October 25, 2014, you can purchase a ticket for only $20.00. Tickets are not eligible to win in any week prior to their activation, but will be eligible to win the grand prize at the end of the season. Ticket holders have 11 chances to win a prize in each of the 17 weeks. They also have a chance to win two grand prizes at the end of the season. Each ticket contains 3 random teams in each week. No two tickets have the same 3 teams in any given week. The total number of points scored by the three teams determines the value of the ticket. If two tickets have the same score, the total yards gained by the 3 teams is used as a tiebreaker. The 8 highest scoring tickets and the 3 lowest scoring tickets each week win prizes! The prizes range from $400.00 to $25.00. Each week winning tickets will be posted on Monday night after the final football game of the week is played. Ticket stubs must be returned to the school and activated to have value. If you like, you can track the results weekly by visiting www.charitymania.com or just relax and we will notify the winners! Tickets are now available for purchase at the school office (M-TH, 8AM-1OO1) or the rectory office during regular business hours.
