Our Sr. Patrycja and Sr. Anna are both Albertine nuns. St. William BROTHER ALBERT We will have a relic of Brother Albert on display under his picture in church on Sunday, June 15th. We should be good like bread: we should be like bread, which is set on the table for all, from which each can cut off a slice for himself and be nourished, if he is hungry. Powinno się być dobrym jak chleb; powinno się być jak chleb, który dla wszystkich leży na stole, z którego każdy może kęs dla siebie ukroić i nakarmić się, jeśli jest głodny. SAINT BROTHER ALBERT - ADAM CHMIELOWSKI was born on the 20th August 1845 in Igołomia near Cracow, Poland. In January, 1863 he took part in the Polish Insurrection, which cost him the loss of his leg. 17 czerwca obchodzimy w liturgii wspomnienie św. Brata Alberta Chmielowskiego. Jego życie było doskonałą ofiarą. Młodość i zdrowie ofiarował ojczyźnie, talent i sławę znakomitego malarza – nędzarzom w krakowskiej ogrzewalni, całe życie Panu Bogu w założonym przez siebie zgromadzeniu Albertynów. With ardent love of God in neighbors he sacrificed his life to serve homeless and oppressed people. He opened almshouses for them; in this way he might uplift these people in their social condition, and point them out to God. In 1887 he donned the religious habit and one year later he pronounced his vows in the presence of Albin Cardinal Dunajewski, thus giving the origin to the new Order's family. Then he founded The Congregation of Albertine Brothers and Sisters. He based the Congregation on the primordial rule of St. Francis of Assisi. He died on December 25th, 1916 with a reputation of sanctity. His canonization took place on 12th November, 1989 in Rome. The Relics of the Saint are located in the ECCE HOMO Church, in Cracow, at 10 Woronicza Street. TURNING THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS….. Church Emphasizes Healing of Fathers On Father’s Day, the Silent No More Campaign, the world’s largest mobilization of men and women who have lost children to abortion, is launching the Turning the Hearts of Fathers campaign. This is a simple effort to raise awareness in the Church that abortion hurts men, too, and that healing is available for those who struggle with the loss of a child to abortion. For help see TurningTheHeartsOfFathers.com or call Project Rachel at 888/456-HOPE, 312/337-1962, or [email protected]. Grief, depression, feeling guilty, unidentified sadness are all symptoms. ALL ARE WELCOME! HAVE FU A D BE SAFE RIDI G! RELIGIOUS EDUCATION THIS YEAR This was a very good year in Religious Education. We had 75 students in the program and seven catechists. We would like to acknowledge the dedication of our volunteer catechists-Sr. Agnes Frances, Elaine Simola, Shannon Manzella, Linda Ricchio, Julie Gorski, Greg Fidanzia, and Angela Koscielniak. They gave generously of their time and effort to work with the children. God bless our parishioners who donated money for some of our students. Twelve families were helped in a big way to pay tuition because of your generosity. Thank you! We had many children receive sacraments this year. Twenty children received Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in March and May. In March we had 11 students make their Confirmation. These celebrations were beautiful and inspiring. We look forward to more students next year. Remember that Religious Education is not just about making a sacrament; it is about being on a journey to learn more about Jesus, the faith, and to help the children grow up into knowledgeable Catholics. The future of our Church depends on our children. Please consider bringing your child to Religious Education classes. We start with first grade and continue until eighth grade. Registration for next year’s classes begins in August and classes start in September. Watch the bulletin for details. ATTENTION SENIORS St. William Seniors will meet Monday, June 16th at 10:00am in Liebrich Hall. There will be coffee & rolls, Bingo and other games. All seniors welcome! THANK YOU AMATO’S PIZZA!
