GMINA POŁANIEC
Połaniec - miasto położone w powiecie staszowskim w południowo - wschodniej
części województwa świętokrzyskiego. Od wschodu granicę gminy stanowi rzeka
Wisła, zaś od północy i zachodu kompleks Lasów Golejowskich. Gmina Połaniec
znajduje się we wschodniej części Niecki Połanieckiej będącej częścią Kotliny
Sandomierskiej. Tutejszy krajobraz ukształtował lodowiec. Pofałdowany teren rozcinają
doliny Wisły, Czarnej, Wschodniej i Kanału - Strumienia. Niecka Połaniecka opada
30-metrowym stopniem w kierunku wschodnim. W okolicy Połańca i Winnicy Wisła
tworzy malowniczy przełom.
Administracyjnie gmina położona jest w powiecie staszowskim, w województwie
świętokrzyskim. Prawie 20 % powierzchni gminy zajmują lasy, z przewagą drzewostanu
sosnowego. Ponad 100 hektarów to stawy rybne. Cała jednostka administracyjna
zajmuje 7 492 hektary, a na miasto przypada 1 741 ha. Zamieszkuje tu 12 400 osób,
a w samym Połańcu 9 000 osób. W skład miasta i gminy wchodzą: miasto Połaniec
i 17 wsi sołeckich Gmina ma charakter przemysłowo-rolniczy, 67 % jej mieszkańców
zatrudnia przemysł, głównie energetyka. Elektrownia Połaniec oraz spółki powstałe
przy elektrowni. W 1996 roku oddano do użytku krytą pływalnię „DELFIN”. W 1999 r.
zakończono budowę wodociągów w Mieście i Gminie Połaniec. Sieć rozdzielcza
osiągnęła długość 140 km. Zakończono również telefonizację Połańca.
COMMUNE POŁANIEC
Polaniec - the city located in the county of Staszów in the south-east part of
Świętokrzyskie Province. From the East the border of the commune is the Vistula
River, and from the North and West the complex of Golejów forests. The commune
of Połaniec is located in the eastern part of the Połaniec basin, a part of the Dell of
Sandomierz. The local landscape was developed by the glacier. The hilly area is cut by
the valleys of the rivers Vistula, Czarna, Wschodnia and Kanał - Strumień. The basin of
Połaniec falls at the 30-meter berme in the eastern direction. In the area of Połaniec
and Winnica the river Vistula creates picturesque gorge.
Administratively, the commune is located in the county of Staszów, in the
Świetokrzyskie province. Almost 20 % of the commune area is covered with forests,
with the dominance of pine forest stand. Over 100 hectares are fish ponds. The whole
administrative unit occupies 7 492 hectars, the city is - 1 741 ha. It is inhabited by 12
400 people, and Połaniec by 9 000 people. The city and commune include: the city
of Połaniec and 17 commune villages. The commune has industrial and agricultural
character, 67 % of its inhabitants are employed in industry, mainly in the power sector.
Połaniec power station and companies created at the power plant. In 1996 the indoor
swimming pool „DELFIN” was opened. In 1999 was finished the construction of water
supply systems in the city and commune Połaniec. The distribution network reached
the length of 140 km. The phone connections in Połaniec were also completed.
