Dear Readers
It is with pleasure that I recommend to you another, now the
15 edition of the Information Bulletin of the State Fire Service.
The ample substantive material contained in this Bulletin provides
not only synthetic knowledge concerning a wide spectrum of the
operations of the State Fire Service in 2007, but also constitutes
a compendium of knowledge allowing for an analytical look to be
taken at the fire service as a rescue formation.
Last year was also the first stage of the implementation of
a programme for modernisation, in the true sense of the term,
aimed at meeting the needs of the State Fire Service, mainly in the
scope of the replacement and improvement of the transport and
technical infrastructure serving to ensure the possibility of
conducting effective rescue operations. Its implementation is based
on the Act of 12 January 2007 Establishing “The Programme for
the Modernisation of the Police, the Border Guard, the State Fire
Service and the Government Protection Office in 2007-2009”.
I am convinced that by reading the Bulletin you will become
more familiar and, at the same time, come to know in greater
detail the specific nature of our service, which is conducted within
the framework of the overall security of the country in the scope of
fire protection, particularly in the field of firefighting and rescue
operations, inspection and reconnaissance, training, logistic and
management activities as well as the cooperation with the rescue
services of other states at international level.
For substantive reasons, the jubilee issue is addressed to all
those who are interested in fire safety and civil protection.
