Family Connection Families who work together to accomplish routine household tasks know that the benefits are more than efficiency. In sharing daily tasks, we accomplish more, but we also build relationships that last—and it's a lot more fun! Jesus sent his disciples in pairs to minister in his name. Perhaps the job was accomplished more effectively this way, but more importantly, Jesus' mission was accomplished more authentically. The Christian message can only authentically be proclaimed in and through the community of faith. In our work with others, we build this community of faith and can invite others to share in it. We are able to spend time together. Why do you think Jesus sent out his disciples in pairs? Observe that Jesus continues to give us a community with which we share our life of discipleship—our family and the community of the Church. (Loyola Press) SENT BY GOD In Amos’ time the vocation of prophet had achieved a very formal status in Israel. The prophets had arisen, originally, to act as God’s voice when Israel was no longer led by the spiritual/civil figures known as “judges,” but by monarchs. Over time, the monarchy had appropriated the offices of priest and prophet, established them into companies, and reserved the right to appoint courtly prophets. Then, as now, when those in power also got to choose who would act as their official conscience, things sometimes went awry. At such times, God raised up prophets from unlikely places, and this is how Amos received his vocation as prophet. In last week’s Gospel we heard how Jesus was raised up as God’s anointed from a place many viewed as unlikely. As we continue to discern our own vocation as baptized disciples, we can be assured that we are, in Paul’s words, “chosen, destined in accord with the purpose of the One who accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will” (Ephesians 1:11). The intention for the flowers will be put in the bulletin and announced during the weekend Masses. Please contact the office if you would like to donate flowers for the intention of a loved one. THE PARISH ORGAN The organ in the church is over 30 years old and is in disrepair. It is no longer cost effective to have the organ repaired. We are in the process of looking for a second hand pipe organ that is in good condition. In the future, I would like to start a campaign to raise money to purchase a second hand organ from a church that is closing. UNFINISHED MISSION Here’s a simple test to find out whether your mission on earth is finished: If you’re alive, it isn’t. Anonymous Last minute? Lekarz powiedział, że do zostania „mamą last minute” potrzebna będzie kuracja hormonalna, a może in vitro. A jednak.
