Rendering of Plots and Graphs in Statistical Package R
PWS 319 X World Conference on Computers in Education July 2-5, 2013; Toruń, Poland Rendering of Plots and Graphs in Statistical Package R Maja Czoków, [email protected] Jarosław Piersa, [email protected] Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Nicolas Copernicus University, Toruń, Poland Abstract The aim of the workshop is to familiarize the participants with statistical package R and particularly with its rendering engine. The course includes brief introduction to the syntax, designing and plotting graphs of functions, adding annotations and legends, adjusting parameters of the figure, saving rendered outputs into graphical files, designing more advanced statistical plots such as histograms, scatter plots. The participants are expected to possess elementary programming skills and basic knowledge of mathematics. Experience in statistics is welcome but not mandatory.
