Gmina Cisna w Sercu Bieszczad Gminne centrum informacji turystycznej w cisnej tel./fax. 13 468 64 65 www.Cisna.pl www.gminacisna.pl e-mail: [email protected] CISNA WCZORAJ I DZIŚ Cisna dawniej Czyasna, datuje swoje założenie w XVI w. Do momentu akcji “Wisła” zamieszkiwali ją głównie Łemkowie, Żydzi i garstka Polaków. W latach 60-tych gmina ożyła turystycznie, pobudowano pierwsze schroniska i ośrodki wczasowe. Już końcem lat 70-tych Bieszczady znane były ze swych walorów klimatycznych, ciszy i spokoju, a wędrowne grupy turystów przemierzały pasma połonin. Od połowy lat 90-tych Gmina Cisna wstąpiła w fazę dynamicznego rozwoju turystyki, a dziś to miejsce znają już prawie wszyscy Polacy. Od 400 miejsc noclegowych w 1992 r. do niemal 3.500 dziś. Mamy cała gamę usług turystycznych, rozwiniętą bazę gastronomiczną i handlową, noclegi w każdym standardzie, galerie twórczości lokalnej, całą sieć tras i szlaków turystycznych, lokalne produkty regionalne i całą masę ciekawych imprez kulturalnych, sportowych czy artystycznych. Od turystyki kwalifikowanej po sporty extremalne. Cisna yesterday and today Cisna gestern und heute Cisna (formerly Czyasna) dates back to 16th c. Located on an old salt route leading to Slovakia over the Nad Roztokami pass, it was founded under Wallachian law and belonged to the Bal family of Hoczew. In the 19th c. it was transferred to the Fredro family, hence its sentimental connection with Aleksander Fredro, the famous Polish comedy writer. Until the resettlement of the local population (known as “Wisła” operation), it had been inhabited mainly by the Lemkos, the Jews and a handful of Poles. Even though the main occupation of the population was farming and forestry then, the region was slowly gaining popularity as a resort. Shortly before WW II the first guest house “Beskid” was opened. After the ”Wisła” operation Cisna emptied; only a handful of Poles working on the Forest Railway (Kolejka Leśna) and in forestry remained tere. Since the 1950s Cisna has been a target of people flocking from other regions Poland’s in search of jobs in forestry and places to live. In the 1960s the commune revived thanks to tourism, the first shelters and leisure centres were built. At the end of the 1970s the Bieszczady Mountains were already known for their climatic values, peace and quiet, and hikers roamed over the połoniny – mountain pastures. In the mid 1990s the Commune of Cisna entered a stage of dynamic tourism development. Now the place is a household name to almost everybody in Poland. We started with 400 beds in 1992 and now we have almost 3,500 of them. We offer a whole range of tourist services, well-developed catering and commercial facilities, accommodation at every standard, local art galleries, a network of tourist paths and trails, local produce and innumerable attractive cultural, sports and arts events: from specialist tourism to extreme sports. 9000 m2. Rzeka z czasem wyżłobiła sobie koryto w łapie osuwiskowej, a „Jeziorko Szmaragdowe” zostało zarumuszowane materiałem skalnym. W miejscu tym możemy zobaczyć m.in. jelenie, daniele, muflony, dziki, szopy, jenoty, nutrie, fretki, susły, króliki, świnki morskie, gęsi gęgawy, gęsi bernikle, kaczki krzyżówki, kaczki szmaragdowe, kaczki czubate, bażanty, przepiórki zwierząt systematycznie przybywa. One of such places is “Sine Wiry”(Bluish Whirlpools) nature reserve, with the area of 450,19 ha, out of which 331,19 ha is situated within Cisna Forest Inspectorate. The reserve was created to protect the gorge of the Wetlina river for its beauty, as well as for scientific and educational reasons. The reserve is a natural refugium for many rare and protected animal species (especially birds and big mammals – including predators), this is also the area where protected vascular plants occur – 28 species are protected, out of which 7 – is partly protected, and 21 – strictly protected (e.g. tiled gladiolous, east-carpathian aconite, white helleborine and sword-leaved helleborine) The curiosity of the reserve are the remainings of rockslide and a barrier lake “Jeziorko szmaragdowe” (Emerald Lake). The rockslide came into being in summer 1980, after a heavy and long-lasting rain over southern slope of Połoma, which dammed up the Wetlina’s waters and made a lake whose area was 9000m2 . After a time, the river gouged its bed in the rockslide, and “Jeziorko Szmaragdowe” was covered up with rocks. Another place of great nature values is a moutain spring that flows from under “Przełęcz Orłowicza” (Orlowicz’s Col). Firstly, it flows through a conduit under a road, then it spills widely, and finally it falls as a waterfall from the altitude of 5 meters. You can go to the very bottom of the waterfall and bathe in a little lake made by it, you can sit on the rocks, watch the crystal-clear water, mountain flora and water lichens. Bathing just under the waterfall is especially worth recommending. When you stand under the wall of ice-cold water it seems that microscope pins are being stuck into whole your body. The impression is, against all appearances very nice, although it demands a bit of persistence. We would also like to recommend to everybody, especially guests with kids, visiting a little forest ZOO in Liszna (near Cisna). You can see there e.g. stags, fallow deers, mouflons, raccoons, raccoon dogs, boars, nutrias, ferrets, gophers, guinea pigs, rabbits, graylags, Canada geese, mallards, emerald ducks, crested ducks, pheasants, quails – the number of species systematically grows. At the mini ZOO you can buy souvenirs and animals’ food. Because of historical values, we would recommend a trip to St. Parasekwia the Martyr’s Orhtodox church in Łopienka, which was built in the end of 18th century. In the center of Cisna, there is “Betlejemka”(Bethlehem) hill, with a monument commemorating the death of militiamen who were defendants of the village between 1944 – 1947. There is also an overlook for the panorama of Cisna together with its cemetary situated at the road to Majdan . At the cemetary there are a few interesting graves (e.g. the oldest dated gravestone in Bieszczady – Antoni Kwieciński’s and his two granddaughters, from 1842). Informacji udziela: Biuro Fundacji Bieszczadzkiej Kolejki Leśnej Majdan 17, 38- 607 Cisna tel./fax. 13 468 63 35 e-mail: [email protected] The railway winds its way among woods in the mountain ranges. Its history dates back to 18901895, when it was constructed on the initiative of a few companies from Budapest and Vienna that explored the forests of the Bieszczady and operated sawmills there. Then the railway was quite important, as it enabled to use the then and present local wealth, namely timber. It also gave jobs to the local population and introduced civilization and development in those neglected, remote areas. In the 1960s the extension of the local paved roads network resulted in car transport developing dramatically, thes enabling more free travel. This, in turn, resulted in a massive inflow of tourists to the Bieszczady. Wandering about, the tourists also discovered the charm of a trip on the Bieszczady Railway.Nowadays, due to low costs of road transport, the timber is no longer carried by train. The train runs regularly from May to September on the route: Majdan – Przysłup- Majdan , Majdan – Balnica- Majdan. It also offers chartered rides. LOKALNA TWÓRCZOŚĆ ARTYSTYCZNA Kto był tu choć raz - wie, że Bieszczady to Kraina Łagodności, poezji śpiewanej i lokalnych twórców. Tu wenę znaleźli poeci, muzycy i pisarze. Tu cieszą oczy pięknem krajobrazu i przelewają je na swe dzieła malarze i rzeźbiarze. To tu kobiety tkają gobeliny, czerpiąc natchnienie z tysięcy barw jesieni, a bibułkarze wiją polne kwiecie. Twarz Madonny spojrzy z ikony, malowanej ręką bieszczadzkiego artysty. Local Arts Kunst vor Ort Anyone who has been here at least once knows that the Bieszczady is a Land of Serenity, poetic songs, and local authors. Poets, musicians, and writers have found inspiration here. Painters and sculptors feast their eyes on the beauty of the landscape, and later express it in their works. Here women weave tapestries inspired by thousands of autumn colours, and wild flowers are created from colourful crepe paper. A face of Madonna looks from an icon painted by an artist from the Bieszczady. The Orthodox Church of St. Paraskkewia the Martyr in Łopienka was built in 1757. Later it was partly destroyed during Word War II. And now it has been restored. In 2000 the miraculous icon returned to be placed at an improvised altar, however it is a copy, as the orginal remains in the church in Polańczyk. The Orthodox Church is open for sightseeing, there are no opening times, as it is open all the time. There is a big wooden figure of „The Bieszczady Christ” inside the church. There is a commemorative book where every visitor can make an entry. There is also the possibility to buy symbolic bricks for the further renovation of the church. Crosses and Chapels They are situated among branchy trees, at the edge of fields, meadows or roads, they are hung on a tree branch or hidden in a river stone. They are majestic with their eyes turned to God. They host Holy Mary, Worried Christ and The Holy Family, and simple people come to them to thank or beg for many things or just to put field flowers tere.
