Prof. Dr. Grzegorz Rozenberg - Konwersatorium Politechniki

Profesor Grzegorz Rozenberg – absolwent Wydziału Elektroniki i Technik Informacyjnych Politechniki
Warszawskiej, wybitny specjalista w dziedzinie informatyki teoretycznej. Jest profesorem w Department of
Computer Science, Leiden University w Holandii, gdzie kieruje grupą Informatyki Teoretycznej w Leiden
Institute of Advanced Computer Science, jak również jest dyrektorem naukowym w Leiden Center for Natural
Computing. Jednocześnie zajmuje stanowisko profesora wizytującego w Department of Computer Science of
University of Colorado w Stanach Zjednoczonych.
Praca naukowa profesora oscyluje wokół takich tematów jak: teoria automatów i lingwistyki matematycznej,
obliczenia molekularne DNA, struktury matematyczne znajdujące zastosowanie w informatyce.
Profesor Rozenberg jest autorem/współautorem/edytorem lub współedytorem około 650 publikacji, w tym
ponad 500 artykułów opublikowanych w prestiżowych czasopismach naukowych, 6 obszernych monografii oraz
90 książek.
Profesor Rozenberg będzie gościł na Politechnice Warszawskiej w czerwcu 2013 r. W trakcie wizyty profesor
zaplanował cykl wykładów pod wiodącym tytułem Natural Computing, Informatics, and Models of the
Functioning of Living Cells.
Rolę jego opiekuna sprawowad będą prof. Henryk Rybioski oraz prof. Stanisław Janeczko.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Professor Grzegorz Rozenberg – graduated from the faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at the
Warsaw University of Technology. He is an eminent specialist in theoretical computer science, holds a position
of professor at the Department of Computer Science, Leiden University, the Netherlands, where he is also the
head of the Theoretical Computer Science group at Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) and
the scientific director of Leiden Center for Natural Computing (LCNC). Additionally, Professor Rozenberg is an
adjoint professor at the Department of Computer Science of University of Colorado, USA.
Currently, Professor Rosenberg focuses on automata theory, mathematical linguistics, molecular computing of
DNA, mathematical structures useful in computer science.
Professor Rozenberg is the author/co-author/editor or co-editor of altogether 650 publications, including over
500 articles which were published in prestigious scientific journals, 6 monographs, 90 books and so on.
Professor Rozenberg will visit the Warsaw University of Technology in June 2013. As a part of his visit, Professor
will give a series of lectures on Natural Computing, Informatics, and Models of the Functioning of Living Cells.
The guest will be hosted by Prof. Henryk Rybinski and Prof. Stanisław Janeczko.
