Śmierć Judasza w Biblii i tradycji chrześcijańskiej
Monografia Śmierć Judasza w Biblii i tradycji chrześcijańskiej (opublikowana w serii
naukowej „Biblioteka Słowa Krzyża”) poświęcona jest biblijnej relacji o śmierci Judasza i w
ujęciu konfrontatywnym prezentuje analizę procesu kształtowania się interpretacji postaci w
greckim i łacińskim kręgu kulturowym chrześcijańskiej. Jej nowatorstwo polega na tym, że
podejmuje refleksję nie tylko nad przekazem kanonicznym, ale też apokryficznym i ludowym,
a całość interpretuje w świetle wieloaspektowych relacji między wschodnią i zachodnią
tradycją chrześcijańską. Jako studium teologiczne łączy filologiczne i kulturoznawcze
podejście do tematu, stanowiąc par excellence pracę interdyscyplinarną. Opierając się na
wynikach badań zarówno światowej biblistyki, jak i patrystyki oraz etnologii, wypełnia lukę
w polskiej literaturze przedmiotu, a także otwiera nowe perspektywy badawcze w kwestii
relacji między katolicką i prawosławną spuścizną kulturową, co przyczynia się do
wzbogacenia dialogu międzykulturowego i międzywyznaniowego.
The Death of Judas in the Bible and the Christian Tradition
The monograph The Death of Judas in the Bible and the Christian Tradition (published in the
scientific series "The Library ‘the Word of the Cross’"; Verbinum, 2012) is devoted to the
Biblical account of the Judas’ death. It analyzes the process of developing of the image of the
traitor in Greek and Latin Christian cultural environment. Its innovation due to the fact that it
interprets not only the canonical, but also the apocryphal and the folk story, and references it
to the relation between the eastern and western Christian tradition. As the theological study, it
combines philological and cultural approach to the subject, becoming an interdisciplinary
work. Based on the results of both the world biblical studies, and patrology and ethnology, it
fills a gap in Polish scientific literature, as well as opens up new research perspectives on the
relationship between the Catholic and Orthodox cultural heritage, which contributes to the
enrichment of intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
