AGATA BOGACKA
Born in 1976, graduated from the Graphic Art Department at the Academy of Fine
Arts in Warsaw (2001). Lives and works in Warsaw.
Malarstwo Agaty Bogackiej jest pelna determinacji próba zlozenia wlasnego,
silnie spersonalizowanego swiata w oparciu o charkterystyczny i latwo rozpoznawalny jezyk formalny. Podmiotem lirycznym jej obrazów jest artystka – mloda
kobieta przygladajaca sie wnikliwie samej sobie, ale równiez nawiazujaca relacje
i zwiazki z innymi osobami. Dystans, tak sensie fizycznym jak i psychologicznym
– bliskosc lub samotnosc – jest w tym malarstwie jednym z kluczowych wymiarów. Obrazy Bogackiej konsekwentnie operujace gladkimi powierzchniami tla, a
co za tym idzie pozbawione iluzjonistycznie oddanej glebi przestrzennej, sa jednak
w kapitalnym stopniu skupione na relacjach miedzy postaciami i przedmiotami.
Bogacka stworzyla jedna z najbardziej wyrazistych i autentycznych wizji zycia
intymnego we wspólczesnej sztuce polskiej. Jest tu zarówno wielkomiejska samotnosc, której rekwizytem staje sie telefon komórkowy (“Agata 2001”, 2001), jak
i intensywny, senny róz; odbicia samej siebie w lustrze i szczesliwi kochankowie
jednej plci (“Ebo & Drug”, 2004).
