December 2015 / January 2016, Polish American News - Page 3 Polonia Bids Farewell to Radio Host Tadeusz Tarapacki Tadeusz Tarapacki, a well-known broadcaster on the Polish American Radio Program, 860 AM in Philadelphia, hosted the Monday broadcast for over twenty years and will be remembered for his enthusiastic personality and entertaining music selections. Educated in Poland, he was well-spoken and very informative. Polish historical, cultural and patriotic events were always highlighted during his broadcasts which were appreciated by the large Polish American population in the Philadelphia area. If there was a cause that would help the Polish American community or unite people with Poland, he made sure listeners were wellinformed and asked to be involved. Tadeusz enjoyed attending events and meeting people. It was often stated that he was the life of the party, and that’s how we ask Polonia to remember him. The music on his broadcasts was always joyful and he featured artists from Poland and America that lifted listeners’ spirits. In recent years with broadcasts available on the Internet, his broadcasts were enjoyed by people near and far, even in Poland. His smile, quick wit, knowledge of Polish history and Polish pride will be missed. All of Polonia extends condolences to his wife Basia and his children. Everyone from the daily Polish American Radio Program, Barbara Ilnicka and her family, and Michael Blichasz and his family join with Polonia in expressing condolences to the Tarapacki family. Thanks to all who join us in remembering this great man. Following the Memorial Mass at St. Adalbert Church in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, his remains will be returned to Poland for burial.
