COURSE DESCRIPTION Code: in summer’s semester 6-a AW6007 6-b AW6008 INTERIOR DESIGN full-time 1st degree (BSc) Field and type of study: INTERIOR DESIGN 2 Course name: Category: mandatory 10 ECTS points: Unit/Department running the course: Number of hours in semester: L– THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR DESIGN T– Lb – W– P – 60 S– The Aim of the Subject: To develop the knowledge and awareness of ergonomics and creative approaches working on a particular interior with a specific function and ambience. To develop a design with strong conceptual basis and attention to visual and functional aspects of the site (building etc.). To further students’ spatial awareness and the influence a space can have on its users. The Scope of the Subject: To design an interior with a commercial function (customer services). Projects include suggested furniture/ appliance arrangements and/or students’ own design furniture schemes. Emphasis is placed upon the delivery of more in-depth and innovative suggestions Subject: 6-a an interior design project of an apartment/flat with an office space. 6-b an interior design project of a larger office space with extra living quarters (a flat) Delivery: Individual tutorials requirements: plans, sections, perspective drawings, colour schemes and suggested illumination. To develop students’ understanding of luminance depending on the quality of spaces. To focus on proper ways of illumination which considers various urban and architectural factors.
