The meeting took place in the Small Hall of the Main Building of Warsaw Technical University. The Forum was organized by the scientific group “Flogiston” of the Faculty of Chemistry of Warsaw Technical University. The conference was mainly targeted at undergraduates (students of the 5th year) of chemical sciences such as: chemical technology, chemistry, biotechnology and chemistry at the frontier of science / medicine or biology from Warsaw Technical University and University of Warsaw. The Institute of Physical Chemistry (IPC PAS) was a sponsor of the Forum. The second sponsor was the company Dow Chemicals. Both the IPC PAS and DOW Chemicals presented their activities at the Forum. During this Forum we presented videos of the experiments performed in our Institute (mainly the experiments performed at the Department of Soft Condensed Matter, Group of Microfluidics and Complex Fluids). Also, we presented the microfluidic chips made by a soft photolithography technology (in elastomer PDMS) and milled with CNC milling machines. We presented a system for electrocoalescence in microscale and a gradient system. These devices were used to perform experiments on the basis of which articles were published in prestigious scientific journals. We also actively talked with students during the poster sessions. We discussed their research which in many cases was very close to what we do in our Institute. The majority of the posters presented by students was at a high scientific level. Therefore, we encouraged their authors to attend the PhD studies in IPC PAS. 1 Institute of Physical Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences address: M. A few of them were interested in visiting IPC PAS to see the laboratories and talk about PhD studies. The way of presenting IPC PAS we chose (the multimedia presentation and showing the real microfluidic devices) was a success – there were lots of students who wanted to talk to us about research we conduct. As a result, the possibility of PhD studies in the Institute was widely spread among students of several Universities in Warsaw (i.e., University of Warsaw, Warsaw University of Technology, University of Live Sciences etc.). Definitely, there is a need to continue such meetings because they give the opportunity to promote the Institute among undergraduates. 2 Institute of Physical Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences address: M.
