On the 19th of November 2009, the Business in Malopolska Centre (BiMC) – a specialised investor service centre –
was officially launched. BiMC is an initiative realised by three institutions within the Invest In Malopolska project:
Malopolska Regional Development Agency – project leader,Kraków Technology Park,Malopolska Voivodeship
(Region) Marshal’s Office.
Edward C. Prescott, who delivered a lecture on Central European economy during the ceremony, once said, “You are
richer than your grandparents and your grandchildren will be even richer”. Professor Prescott, Noble Prize winner,
presented an optimistic vision for Poland. In his opinion, Poland will soon join the group of rich countries.

Regions make up the world
The launching of the Centre took place during the Annual “Business in Malopolska” Meeting. This year’s event’s
motto was “Regions make up the world”.
Participants in the discussion on the future of regions included Róża Thun – MEP, Ewa Porębska – President of the
Management Board of Motorola Polska, Stanisław Kracik – the Małopolska voivode, professor Bolesław Domański
(Jagiellonian University) and Wawrzyniec Smoczyński – a journalist with “Polityka”.

During the conclusion of the event, the hosts of the BiMC presented the logo of the new institution and guests could
see the installation prepared by the Kraków Festival Office related to the BIM symbol – the Malopolska Tree
of Investment and Innovation.

New areas for investment
The Business in Malopolska Centre is a modern investor service and promotion office for Malopolskan business
located in the Kraków Technology Park.
The BiMC is the only integrated system of business services in the region, a place where entrepreneurs interested
both in locating investments in Malopolska and exporting goods receive comprehensive support.
