The observatory was created in 1792. It currently belongs to the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science
of Jagiellonian University in Kraków. It is located in Fort Skała (part of Kraków Fortress) at 171 Orla Street, in Kraków, about 10
km from the city centre.
