Designing for deliberation – discussion panel (10:10am-11:30am)
The aim of the panel is to propose and problematize analytical dimensions of the ICT design for deliberation
online, in particular deliberative consultations online. First, we will put forward different aspects of planning
for a deliberative encounter. Then we will discuss how IT environment may interfere and with what effects.

“In Dialogue” for cities and citizens – presentations (11:40am-1:10pm)
The presentation will comprise a model of deliberation developed in the “In Dialogue” project
www.wdialogu.uw.edu.pl/en, and its implementation with the ICT in Polish cities. The aspects of a
deliberation planning, registration, text and voice encounters as well as the reporting of consultation results
will be brought up to the attention of the conference participants.

ICT & participatory approach to public dilemmas – presentations (1:50pm-3:20pm)
The panel participants will present projects focusing on the use of ICT in deliberation for the purpose of
public problem solving. We will pay particular attention to projects that aim at modelling ICT to strengthen
deliberation. Theoretical models, the reasoning behind them, and their implementations will be of equal
interest. We will explore and evaluate the results of interventions conducted during applied projects.

Absorption of innovations – discussion panel (3:30pm-5:00pm)
The panel participants, looking from perspectives of researchers and practitioners, will discuss the issue of
demand for innovations regarding deliberations in public policy-making, developments as well as the
absorption of new tools and procedures. The panellists will also address the communication and cooperation
between the representatives of academia and public administration.
