Waveforms BMS IP
BMS IP – narrowband MANET (Mobile Ad-Hoc
Network) waveform , capable to transmit digital voice
(e.g. MELPe), IP data, Situation Awareness, GPS position
and other information required in the BMS systems
(Battlefield Management System)
Main features:
■ narrowband waveform for VHF/UHF frequency
band
■ dedicated to BMS (Battlefield Management System)
solutions
■ optimized to work in the area of approx. 15 km x 15
km (Multi-hop relay)
■ designed to coexist with present VHF/UHF radios,
which allows future replacement of currently used
VHF/UHF radios (e.g. STANAG 4204)
■ network up to 32 nodes in a group
■ velocity up to 130 km/h (differential speed up to
260 km/h)
■ channel access mode: TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access)
■ synchronization with and without GNSS
■ 3 power levels in “manual” or “adaptive power”
control modes
■ capability to choose baud rate (dependent on the
required ranges)
- channel 25 kHz: 20, 32, 64, 82 kbps
- channel 50 kHz: 40 and 63 kbps
- channel 75 kHz: 128 kbps
User services:
■ simultaneous voice and data transmission with
“Multi-hop relay”
■ “Multicast voice”:
- Multi-hop PTT Voice
- MELPe 2400 / CODEC2
■ supports horizontal and vertical voice communication (flat and hierarchical network)
■ data services:
- SA (Situation Awareness) data and GPS data
