It is said that people are divided into the humanistic minds and analytical minds. Humanists
read a lot and the science is not interesting for them. People who have analytical mind focus on
the science and the literature is not attractive for them... Apparently, they cannot be reconciled
and they are like fire and water...
In the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of
Sciences we try to show that literature can be perfect source of
scientific inspiration and fantastic introduction to the world of science.

Our project, Chemical Harry Potter, is an attempt to show to young
people that the magic contained in many books is actually chemistry
and physics, and the magic spells are a poetic name of the physical
and chemical processes.
The aim is to demonstrate to young readers that the world around us is in fact a collection of chemical and
physical laws.

This world is also a great way to encourage children and young people to science and, at the same time, it is
