A lawyer and a judge, a financier, he completed postgraduate studies at the Higher School of
Banking and Finances in Katowice. He was a Director of the PKO BP Bank in Dabrowa
Gornicza (1989-1993), Director of the Katowice branch of Kredyt Bank SA (1993-1997) and the
Regional Branch of Kredyt Bank SA in Katowice (1997-2001), a member of the POLCAR SA
board ( 2001-02 ), a board representative for the financial restructuring in the Silesian Regional
Fund for the Sick in Katowice, deputy chief financial officer at the Silesian Regional Branch of
the National Health Fund (2003-04), member of the board of the Silesia Financial Society
(2004-06), director of development at the Max Aicher Poland (2006-09), President of the board
of the HB SMPS Buczek in Sosnowiec. He was a member of several teams: for the steel
industry restructuring - at the Ministry of Industry, organizational for the National Health Fund supervised by the Minister of Health, for the privatization of the sector - at the Ministry of the
Treasury, for the organization of the reform of the pension scheme supervised by the Minister of
Finances; also a member of the supervisory boards of Węglozbyt SA , Węglokoks SA ,
Centrostal Bydgoszcz SA , Centrostal Kielce SA.
His greatest achievements were: to develop a system of transaction financing to provide
liquidity between the coal companies, coke companies, and power plants; issuing debt papers
for the city of Krakow for financing the construction of a bridge; financial and organizational
restructuring of the TF Silesia company; financial restructuring of the Silesian health
maintenance organization involving getting rid of revenue shortfalls and adjusting their levels to
be adequate to contracts for medical services, participation in the privatization of the
Czestochowa Steel Mill, restructuring of the Tube Rolling Mill “Andrzej” in Zawadzkie,
development and implementation of the pre-financing of exports project for the Polish
Steelworks SA.
