Hotel Des Indes is nestled in the heart of the city at the edge of a well known
leafy square (Lange Voorhout). The surrounding buildings make up the
government and diplomatic district, which is quite vast in The Hague, since the
city is home to a wide variety of international organisations and peacekeeping
forums.
History comes to life in antique shops, world-renowned museums, and
centuries-old theatres dotted all over the city, but especially in the beautiful
areas neighboring Hotel Des Indes. Visit the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis
to see the work of Vermeer and Rembrandt, among others. Mauritshuis houses
The Royal Cabinet of Paintings, one of the world’s most famous collections,
and stands amidst the 17th century mansion of the governor-general of Dutch
Brazil, John Maurits, Count of Nassau Siegen.
A visit to The Hague is not complete without seeing the utterly charming
Madurodam, only 2.5 kilometres from the hotel. Madurodam is a Dutch city
built at 1:25 scale—it includes miniature models of major and symbolic Dutch
landmarks and displays traditional Dutch architecture in a beautiful setting.
The local youth council even elects a mayor for the tiny town.
Queen Beatrix chose to make the lovely Noordeinde Palace her place of work
in 1984—before that, it was the place of residence for Dutch Stadtholders—it
housed the monarchy.
And today, Knight’s Hall, the castle by the sea built so many centuries ago that
began the history of The Hague, plays a major part in Royal ceremonies.

Hotel Des Indes is one of the few hotels in The Hague that offers guests the convenience of its own
parking facility.
Valet parking is available in our outdoor parking lot for a fee. Due to the limited number of spaces,
we regret that reservations are not available. Visitors to the hotel enjoy valet parking for 7 EUR per
hour.
Self-parking is not available; however, guests may avail themselves of the 24-hour parking garage
“Het Plein”—located a mere 3-minute drive away from the hotel. Hourly parking rates apply.
