Homplex Interiors - Case Study
ABOUT THE CONTEST
The contest HOMPLEX INTERIORS (pl. Homplexowe Wnetrza) is a unique event that boosts online product promotion
and serves as an effective marketing tool for the home and interior design industry. With its support, manufacturers
can reach several thousands of interior designers, as well as nearly two million Internet users annually, who are
looking to find or create beautiful arrangements. The task for participants of the quarterly contest was to prepare
photorealistic interior visualizations based on the home furnishings available in Poland.
The first edition was targetted primarily towards young designers. Homplex Interiors is an ambitious challenge for
them, which helped validate their knowledge and skills. In the competition there were 104 active designers who
have made a total of 143 projects, out of approximately 500 visualizations. All of the submited projects can be seen
on homplex.pl, which receives over 150,000 visitors per month of people who want to find or design interesting ideas
for living spaces.
Participants of this edition designed LIVING ROOMS and BEDROOMS by creating interior compositions with the
following products from our partners: sofas and corners by Etap Sofa, beds and cabinets by Bydgoskie Meble
tables and chairs offered by Myin.pl, lighting by BPM Lighting, fireplaces by Kratki.pl, pictures and photowallpapers
offered by Gurupa.pl, wallpapers by Rasch offered by StudioRasch.pl and floor tiles by Rako. Visualizations could
be designed in their own software or with the one provided by our main partner CAD Projekt K&A.
When creating the project, participants were able to choose from 10 housing plans and needed to consider 6
“personal profiles” which described personal preferences of the living space. 3D models and textures of the real
products from our partners were also provided to the participants. When the project was completed, participants
listed each element used in their design.
Homplex Interiors was an incredible success,
due to the unique format of the competition,
our great Partners’ support and engagement,
and our amazing participants, who faced the challenge
and delivered beautiful designs, full of awesome ideas.

We invite manufacturers and suppliers of home furnishing products to join Homplex Interiors 2013. It’s an effective
method to reach potential customers who are planning to furnish their apartments within the next two years. See
the previous Partners’ testimonials as confirmation of the value of participation in the contest.
As part of the competition, we provide all the benefits of Homplex Interiors, of which the most important is the
copyright acquisition to contest designs, and the platform to display them to millions of Internet users looking
for interior design ideas in Homplex. These visualizations can be used for further marketing activities including
promotion in traditional and modern media channels.
Reliable 3D models are necessary for ideal product presentation in digital visualizations. As part of the cooperation
we provide you professional 3D modeling of your product range and will share them on websites for interior
designers and decorators. This makes it more likely for designers to use your products in their visualisations.
Real estate developers are also invited to leverage their investments by providing designers a real layout plan of
apartments in Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Lodz and Tri-City. The resulting arrangements could perfectly complement
your standard housing offer, show furnishing capabilities, and deliver attractive images for client.

Partner registration for all editions in 2013 is carried out from November 2012. The decision to join the contest
can be at least two weeks before the start of the new edition. However, it requires having your own 3D models and

ABOUT HOMPLEX
Homplex is an innovative solution for home furnishing and interior design. Whether its for a professional interior
designer, new home owner, or casual decorator, Homplex helps its users make good design decisions. The Homplex
interactive online platform combines design knowledge and technology, providing virtual arrangements and smart
shopping features so that every customer receives beautifully finished interiors and a sense of fulfilled dreams.
Virtual arrangements are displayed for Homplex visitors to view and get ideas about their own home renovations or
interior decoration. Homplex then provides a list of real-life products displayed in each virtual arrangement. Users
can view cost estimations and see nearby locations where they can purchase the products. Soon this functionality
will be extended with a virtual assistant to guide Homplex users navigate through interior design projects.
Homplex is the perfect platform for permission marketing, making the advertising message more effective, as
it is directed specificially ats customers seeking home solutions. Product placement via arrangements, tailored
appearance suggestive positioning and price home furnishing products, and indicated the place of purchase within
the customer’s location, make up the perfect composition combining the needs of customers and service providers
assortment of home furnishings.
Homplex is a place where people can start their adventures of renovation, interior design, or home furnishings. It
is an ideal tool for customers looking to perfectly design a space, and for distributors to directly interact and target
those customers in a natural and non-invasive way.
The organization of the “Homplex Interiors” context is an effort to show Internet users practical ideas for interior
design, while encouraging the designers to display their talents. The platform assists hopeful professionals to build
their own brand and develop a portfolio. By partnering with manufacturers and distributors, we expose their product
lineup and they receive awesome vizualizations of their products in real designs.
We invite interior arrangements businesses to partner with Homplex, and create the future of beautiful interior

The competition proved to be a very interesting and successful experiment, a variety of arrangements of
Bydgoskie Meble and Etap Sofa Collection elements have been created, and each participant utilized them

Homplex Interiors is a great idea which involves mainly young architects in the creation of original, usable interiors. Both the number of entries, as well as the creativity of the authors exceeded our expectations, which
is why it was very difficult to choose the winners. The biggest surprise, and joy above all, was the fact that
over 80% of the designs include our company products - Kratki.pl. Bio-fireplaces are still new to the market,
and with this type of events awareness of their existence and the desire to have significantly increases.

The first edition of the “Homplex Interiors” contest brought us satisfaction in many areas, and helped us
identify common project objectives and summary results. We wanted to make this project different from other
interior design competitions and give young designers a virtual substitute for the interior design process,
which refers to the personality of their potential customer. We wanted to make participants aware that the design starts with a thorough knowledge of the client needs, and habits, and I think we succeeded. We are also
