Polly is twelve years old. She lives in Oxford, a beautiful
town north of London.
Oxford is famous for its university and a car factory. A lot of
students from other countries come to study there. There
are also some language schools where children from all
over the world study English. They usually live with host
families.
Polly goes to a primary school. Now two girls from Poland
are staying with her. They are studying English at the
language school. Every day the girls get up at eight o'clock.
Then they get dressed and have breakfast, usually corn
flakes with milk, toast, some jam, a boiled egg and orange
juice. After breakfast they leave home for schools. They
come back home at about half past three and do
homework. Dinner is at five and then the girls go for a walk
or ride a bike. In the evening they often play computer
